GOOD NEWS FOR HOMEOWNERS WITH SOLAR

If you’ve been worried about the reports of R30,000 fines for unregistered solar systems, there’s been an important update.

Eskom has reportedly confirmed that residential customers will NOT be fined R30,000 or have their electricity disconnected simply for failing to register their solar system by the 30 September 2026 deadline.

-Solar registration is still being encouraged by Eskom.
-But the threatened R30,000 fine and disconnection appear to be off the table.
-And importantly, your solar installation should still have the correct Certificate of Compliance (CoC).

Definitely worth knowing if you already have solar — or you’re buying or selling a home with a solar system installed.
