This October Transport Month, we are proud to announce that TETA is rolling out a Universal Access capacity building programme for the public bus transport system in the City of Ekurhuleni. The project seeks to capacitate public bus transport providers to cater for the most vulnerable people within our society when designing infrastructure, planning routes, and delivering services. Watch this space for more on this programme.

Feeding schemes that the church provides in communities play an important role in providing food and nutritional support. You cannot be taking treatment and medication on an empty stomach. Our young vibrant speaker Sandile "MaSa" Mkhize highlights how we as a society need to stop labelling people living with HIV as "immoral" because some people are born with it and there are various ways to contract the virus. We must treat it as any other medical condition and support those who live with it.

Mirriam Tshabalala says that HIV as a social issue is linked to other ills such as gender based violence, poverty and stigma. We can't isolate it and ignore the other issues.

Mr John Mnisi is from the ARMSTA Veterans Association. He says he has been using a condoms consistently since 1985 when he first heard about HIV. He highlights how men find it difficult to open up about health related issues and this hurts them as the secrecy is what "eats them on the inside" and makes them more vulnerable to not accessing treatment.
