SORAYA VIVIAN Show’s her support for KYIV PRIDE & the UKRAINE LGBTQIA+ Community with her new single COLOURS OF LOVE - Out 28th July 2023
What’s a girl from a Fairground Family in Yorkshire got in common with the War in Ukraine?
Soraya Vivian who grew up amongst a family of theatrical performers in Yorkshire, entertaining from an early age and soon making it big on the club land circuit with Super club Brands Hed Kandi & Fierce Angel, singing Anthems ‘When Your Gone’ & ‘It Must Have Been Love. Soraya’s amazing vocal talent and stage energy quickly found her supported by the LGBTQIA+ Community Worldwide, becoming a passionate Pride Ambassador & HIV Activist. Soraya regularly host’s and performing at Prides throughout the UK, Europe and the Rest of the World and in particular Ukraine.
So, when the war started, it was time for Soraya to stand up and give some love back by recording her new single COLOURS OF LOVE which features her HAUS OF SORAYA Drag Singers & Dancers, the tracks goal is to show not only much needed love and support, but also keep up the global awareness of the Plight of the community in Ukraine and at same time raise as much money as possible.
All the profits from the track will be going direct to KYIV PRIDE who will buy medical supplies, food and help continue to provide their shelter for the LGBTQIA+ community in Ukraine.
When asked on her Haus of Soraya podcast whey she wanted to do this track she responded as passionately as ever.
‘As an International LGBTQIA+ Ambassador over the years I have been very fortunate to perform gigs all around the World and especially in Eastern Europe, and I have seen at first hand even before the war started how the LGBTQIA+ community have been treated, so having been able to use my gift and voice previously to perform for them -, I know I had to listen to what their voices when they were crying out for help - and this is the reason why I wanted to put together like minded people who I know can make a difference to record this song, create this video and tell their story, we aim to raise much needed awareness and funds for medical supplies to support the LGBTQIA+ community in Ukraine.
It’s as simple as that nothing bad is ever going to come from being kind, I just want to do the best I can for fellow human being’s – I recently had the pleasure to meet Lenny Emson the executive director of Kyiv Pride who I was humbled to meet and hear the harrowing stories of what is going on back in Kyiv, that meeting only made me even more determined to make as much noise as possible with this track’.
COLOURS OF LOVE is the OFFICIAL KYIV PRIDE ANTHEM and will be released 28th July 2023 on all platforms via the wonderful DEEVU Records.
Soraya Vivian will be performing the track all over the Word including UK Prides in Manchester, Liverpool, Hull, Sunderland, Lincoln and many more being added all the time such as Winter Pride in Maspalomas Spain, Mr Gay World Pride 2023 and the Final of Mr Gay World 2023 in Cape Town South Africa, giving Soraya the ideal opportunity to spread the Colours of Love support for Ukraine to over 27 countries being represented at the Final.
