Sara Rose Children’s Home in Kitwe
Their mission is to rebuild vulnerable children's lives through faith-based care, providing loving homes and pathways to bright futures under God's guidance.

JVChantete Earthworks has supported Sara Rose for many years.

We do maintenance work on the school's infrastructure and provide support for the children’s school programs.
Apart from the general maintenance work, we also look after other aspects of the children’s well-being, as shown in the accompanying images.
A yearly Christmas function brings smiles to many young faces as the school benefits from several levels of support by JVChantete.

Kasombo School
Kasombo Secondary School is an Educore Foundation project. Educore is working in partnership with community stakeholders, local government and funders like the Trident Foundation and JVChantete.
This is to develop a grant-aided secondary school. JVChantete Earthworks is committed to responsible corporate citizenship and sustainable development within the communities where it operates.

As part of its ESG priorities, the company is providing direct financial support for the construction of the Kasombo Secondary School in the Kalumbila District.

This contribution is aimed at strengthening rural education, reducing inequality, and supporting government efforts to expand access to secondary education.
Phase One of the project, started in 2025, will include: 3 x classroom blocks, 2 x ablution blocks, and 1 x Admin building.

Safety Officer
Key Responsibilities
The Safety Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a safe working environment.
• Develop and implement site-specific health and safety policies in line with company and legal standards.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Deliver safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to staff, contractors, and visitors.
• Monitor the use of PPE and ensure compliance with safety protocols at all times.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses, preparing detailed reports with corrective action plans.
• Maintain and update safety records, inspection logs, and incident reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure readiness of fire safety and first-aid equipment.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and assist during audits, inspections, or compliance reviews.
• Promote a strong safety culture by engaging and educating staff on best practices.

Key Competencies
• Good communication skills.
• Certification and experience in First Aid are an added advantage.
• Must be alert and assertive, tactful and diplomatic.
• Must be ready to attend and/or conduct safety briefings everyday.
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Team collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
• Attention to detail.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Valid driver’s license

Qualifications
• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with five 0-levels including Mathematics and English.
• Valid Silicosis
• A minimum of five (5) years experience in a similar field (preferably in the mining industry).

JVChantete Earthworks Ltd is seeking skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics to join our maintenance team supporting mining operations across Zambia.

Summary Key Responsibilities
• Carry out inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy mobile equipment.
• Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on equipment.
• Execute both planned maintenance and breakdown repairs efficiently.
• Conduct component change-outs in line with OEM standards.
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and to required standards.
• Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately.
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure equipment availability.

Key Competencies:
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of reliability, discipline, and accountability.
• Good understanding of safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work shifts and site-based schedules.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• Craft Certificate, Advanced Craft Certificate, Trade Test Certificate (Grade I-III), Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Heavy Equipment Engineering, or equivalent qualification in Heavy Equipment or Diesel Mechanics.
• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience working on heavy mining or earth-moving equipment.
• Strong experience working with equipment such as:
o Komatsu excavators, dozers, and dump trucks
o CAT 777 trucks (or similar equipment)
• Sound knowledge of planned maintenance systems and breakdown repairs.

• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in maintenance planning within mining, construction, or heavy equipment environments.
• Experience using CMMS systems (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of planned maintenance processes and systems.
• Experience with Komatsu, CAT, Bell, or similar heavy equipment will be an added advantage.
