Position Title: HME Maintenance Trainer
Reports to: Site Manager
Site: Solwezi - Zambia

Job Summary:
To deliver theoretical and practical training in the maintenance and repair of heavy mobile equipment, ensuring trainees gain the skills and competencies to work safely and effectively in the mining and maintenance areas.
Key Responsibilities:
• Delivery of hands-on training and assessments for the heavy equipment maintenance team. (e.g., hydraulic systems, drive-trains, brakes, cooling systems, and electrical systems)
• Develop and implement training programs to improve operational maintenance, efficiency and productivity and maintain workforce discipline.
• Ensure strict compliance with company policies, safety standards, and contractual obligations. (LOTO, Permit to Work)
• Maintain accurate training records and prepare reports for management.
• Support training programs and refresher courses for the heavy equipment maintenance team.
• Act as a central coordination point for workforce administration and HR compliance related to heavy mining equipment maintenance training.
• Coach apprentices and up skill existing maintenance technicians.
• Identify training needs and support with additional tailored hands-on coaching within the workplace.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum of a trade qualification in Heavy Equipment Mechanic. (e.g., Diesel or Fitter)
• Training qualifications. (e.g., Assessors, TEVETA, Training Methodology)
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance in mining.
• Basic computer skills. (e.g., Word, Excell, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software and service systems.
• Must be Physically fit to work in a mining environment
