🔧 Boilies – Keen to Get Off the Tools?
ABBFAB Darwin is chasing a Draftsperson / CNC Programmer to join the crew. If you’re a Boilermaker or fabricator and you’re over the day-to-day on the tools, this could be a ripper next step.
If you know your way around fabrication, have a good eye for detail and want to learn something new, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Get Stuck Into
• Programming CNC jobs (we’ll show you the ropes)
• Reading and working from drawings
• Quoting, estimating and ordering materials
• Working with clients and the workshop crew
• Keeping jobs organised and moving
• Getting across a mix of fabrication work
You’ll Fit Right In If You...
• Come from a boilermaking or fabrication background
• Know AutoCAD, ProNest, or SolidWorks — or you’re keen to learn
• Have a good eye for detail
• Can have a chat with clients and work well with the team
• Can stay on top of a few things at once
• Rock up with a solid attitude and work ethic
Experience Needed
• Previous experience in boilermaking, metal fabrication or a similar trade is preferred
• Experience reading workshop drawings and interpreting job specs
• Exposure to quoting, material take-offs, or job planning would be an advantage
• Experience using CAD software or CNC programming is helpful, but not essential if you’re willing to learn
• A background working in a busy workshop or production environment will set you up well for the role
