Swipe through to see the transformation of this CQMS Hurricane Dragline Bucket (BU12) following a comprehensive structural rebuild completed by the FGCM team.

This project involved:

✔ Complete inspection, gauging and NDT
✔ Extensive crack repairs
✔ Replacement of worn structural floor, sidewall and rear plates
✔ Rebuild of drag hitch, trunnion and arch anchor assemblies
✔ Replacement of wear packages, bushes and structural components
✔ New adaptor noses, lip shrouds and wing shrouds
✔ Premium wear protection including PTAW and TCO components
✔ Final QA inspection, protective coating and delivery back to site

Major Dragline Bucket Overhaul Underway at FGCM

Another impressive project has arrived in the workshop, with our team currently completing a major structural overhaul on this dragline bucket.

Another Major Rebuild Rolled Out the Door at FGCM

After thousands of labour hours, tonnes of steel, and countless quality checks, this Komatsu PC7000 bucket rebuild has officially rolled out the workshop door and is ready to return to work.

This wasn't just a repair — it was a full structural rebuild designed to bring one of the mine's most critical production assets back to near-OEM condition.

Our scope included:

✅ Complete lip replacement
✅ New floor sections installed
✅ Full wear package replacement
✅ Structural crack repairs and reinforcement
✅ Precision line boring of all critical bores
✅ Extensive NDT inspections and quality assurance
✅ Final dimensional checks and fit-up verification

To put the scale of this project into perspective, this bucket weighs approximately 40 tonnes and can move up to 40 cubic metres of material in a single pass. That's enough material to fill a large backyard swimming pool in just a few bucket loads and move thousands of tonnes every shift.

Projects of this size demand precision, planning, and experience. Every weld, wear plate, bore, and structural component has been rebuilt to ensure maximum reliability and service life in one of the harshest operating environments on earth.

Recent TLO Outage – Chute Replacement Completed

During a recent TLO outage, the FGCM team successfully mobilised to carry out a full chute replacement for our valued client.

From fabrication and assembly through to surface preparation, coating, transport, and installation readiness, our team delivered the project safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The photos showcase the workmanship, planning, and teamwork involved in completing this critical shutdown scope.

A big thank you to our workshop crew, boilermakers, painters, and logistics team who worked together to ensure the chute was fabricated, coated, and delivered ready for installation during the outage window.
