⚠️ Compliance Alert: Part-time employment payroll is under scrutiny

A recent decision involving Woolworths Group is a timely reminder that small gaps = big penalties!

The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia found breaches of the Fair Work Act 2009, with penalties exceeding $230,000 driven by part-time employment payroll issues that many employers still get wrong:
• Not providing contracted hours
• Unpredictable or changing rosters
• Additional hours worked without proper consent or overtime
• Unilateral contract changes
• Non-compliant payroll deductions

Part-time employment isn’t “flexible by default.” It’s structured and regular.

If your contracts, rostering practices or payroll processes aren’t aligned, you’re exposing your organisation to costly risks.
