TUESDAY TECH TIPS

Speakers: send your slides to the event organiser or AV team a few days early, in the format the venue uses.

Also check the shape of the screen. Slides made for a wide screen can look cut off on a squarer one.

Sorting it out the week before is easy. Sorting it out on the morning, with a room filling up, is stressful for everyone.

TUESDAY TECH TIPS

If you're running an event, ask for a tech check before doors open. Thirty minutes is enough.

Put the speakers' real slides on the real screen. Try every microphone. Then walk to the back row and listen to how it sounds from there.

It catches the small problems while they are easy to fix, and it means your first speaker starts on time and feels confident.

Billy Elliot The Musical is lighting up the stage at Leongatha Lyric Theatre, and if the reviews are anything to go by, you don't want to miss this one.

We've seen a lot of shows over the years, and this production is something special. Outstanding performances across the board, clever direction, sharp choreography and a brilliant live band driving it all. The audiences agree, with multiple performances already sold out.

Welcome to the Rock!

Conference Audio Visual provided the lighting design for Wonthaggi Theatre Group's production of Come From Away, and what a show it was.

It's always a great challenge taking a bare stage of chairs and tables and turning it into a small town in Newfoundland. Check out our time-lapse to watch the whole set and rig come together.

The rig featured Infinity S401 and P402 moving lights and the Infinity TS profile range, supplied by Clearlight Shows, along with Robert Juliat 600W LED followspots supplied by Res-X.
