I’m Chantelle Bruinsma, creator of Studio Evolution. Welcome home! Studio Evolution is a 2-year program designed to guide dedicated studio owners to business bliss. By implementing our systems and automation strategies, you will have a thriving, profitable, joy-filled studio that gives you the freedom you’ve been craving. This is a guided program where studio owners work together to grow their stu

dios into profitable businesses that don’t need constant attention from their owners - that would be you! The comfort of working alongside other studio owners is unsurpassed. If you’ve ever felt as though your friends and family don’t understand what it’s like to run a studio, then Evolution is where you belong. It’s time to stop guessing and fumbling when it comes to the growth of your business. Come home to Studio Evolution. We’re here for you. My devoted team will help you stay focused on what you need to do daily to get that business growing. My main focus is profit, growth and freedom. Maximum results, with maximum joy. Just for context, within 12 months of working with me, I have had Studio Owners almost double their student numbers, pay off loans in excess of $24,000, finish the year with a $90k profit (with an additional $30k bonus), double their recital profit and increase their profitability from 1% to 13%. Within the first 6 months of the course, I have also helped Studio Owners reduce their working hours by 40%, minimising their teaching schedule for the first time in years. I do not believe that studio owners need to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Let’s change that story. Want to kno more about our program and see if it is a right fit for you? Your website should never feel like a brochure.

It should feel like - “This place understands me.”

Because that’s what parents are actually searching for.

Not just class times.
Not just programs.
Not just “about the studio.”

They’re looking for connection.

They want to feel:
✔ seen
✔ understood
✔ safe
✔ like their child belongs there

And this is where so many studios miss the opportunity.

They spend their whole website talking about:
👉 the studio
👉 the timetable
👉 the teachers
👉 the programs

…instead of speaking directly to the parent sitting on the other side of the screen.

Talk to them.

Talk about:
their child
their worries
their hopes
what they deeply want their child to feel

Because when someone feels emotionally connected, conversion becomes so much easier.

Your website is one of the most powerful relationship-building tools in your business.

Through:
language
imagery
video
storytelling

…you have the opportunity to make someone feel: 💛 “This is the place for us.”

And that changes everything.

Let’s be real with each other for a second…

How many of you feel anxious looking at your bank balance?

How many of you genuinely don’t know exactly what your studio is making each month… or each year?

And how many of you, deep down, would really love to earn more money in your business?

You are not alone.

So many studio owners are carrying financial pressure quietly in the background while still showing up every
day for everyone else.

But avoiding the numbers doesn’t make the stress smaller.

Usually… it makes it louder.

And here’s the thing nobody talks about enough:

Wanting your business to be profitable doesn’t make you greedy.

It makes you responsible.

Because when your studio is financially healthy, everything changes.

The pressure eases.
The decisions become clearer.
And you stop surviving month to month.

I have studio owners come to me weekly and say “If I just enrol more students, I will make more money”.

I beg to differ, your profitability can transform through retention and by falling in love with your numbers. Knowing them inside out and back to front. It is not easy but I know when studio owners face the obstacle of this, they are unstoppable.

I think we need to talk about this more openly as an industry. What do you think?

Interest rates went up again this week in Australia…

And with Australia currently sitting at some of the highest inflation levels in the world, it’s something a lot of studio owners are quietly feeling right now.

Costs are rising.
Pressure is building.
And it’s very easy to slip into reaction mode.

Tighten things.
Absorb it.
Just carry a little more.

But here’s the truth…

👉 That approach has a limit.

Because as this continues, there will come a point where you simply can’t absorb any more.

Something has to give.

That is why I am showing you a snippet of what I taught inside The Eight this week.

Because in seasons like this — especially in seasons like this — it’s not about reacting.

It’s about staying ahead.

Instead of asking:
“Can I just manage this for now?”

We start asking:
👉 What needs to be in place for this business to be financially sustainable long term?

👉 How do I build a model that holds… even when external pressure increases?

Because stability doesn’t come from pushing harder.

It comes from building a business that is designed to support you — no matter what’s happening outside of it.

This is the work that keeps you ahead. Not only are we focussing on this for the next 8 weeks but our members are documenting their strategy in a Companion which they will upload to their Mentors along with their studio numbers to get the feedback that injects momentum into their studio and finances.

If you have wanted to be part of a Mastermind that does the work and not just teaches you it, I encourage you to apply for The Eight. We are about to have 3 spots open program wide and one of them could be yours and you could be planning your Pricing Leadership model to ensure you don’t absorb it all.

One of the biggest risks in your studio…
(and most people don’t even realise they’re doing it)

👉 Relying too heavily on the teacher-student relationship.

Because what happens when that teacher leaves?

Everything feels shaky.
Students drift.
Retention drops.

And it’s not because your studio isn’t amazing — it’s because the foundation isn’t fully supported.

This is something I speak about in my Retention Training called The Nexus Point.

What you actually want is a 3-part connection model:
✨ Connection to the teacher
✨ Connection to the studio (your values, your community, your culture)
✨ Connection to friendships within the studio

Think of it like a 3-legged stool.

If one leg goes… the whole thing becomes unstable.

But when all three are strong?

You create a studio where students don’t just attend… they belong.

And that’s where retention becomes natural, not forced.

This is the kind of thinking that shifts everything.

I have always said Retention is the heart and soul of a studio. How is your retention going?

Also, bonus points if you comment what percentage you think a studio’s retention should be. I will let you know the benchmark we aim for at Studio Evolution with all our clients.

This week on 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘰 𝘗𝘰𝘥𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘵, Chantelle and Michelle dive into one of the most common — and controversial — strategies in the studio industry.

Free trials.

They’re everywhere.
They feel generous.
They seem like the “normal” thing to offer.

But what if they’re actually creating more admin, lower commitment, and weaker conversions for your studio?

In this episode, Chantelle shares a powerful perspective on why moving away from free trials can transform not only your enrolments, but also the culture and retention inside your classes.

You’ll learn:
✨ Why free trials can disrupt class connection and retention
✨ The hidden workload they create for your team
✨ A smarter enrolment approach that attracts students who are ready to commit

If you’ve ever felt exhausted chasing trial students who never enrol, this conversation will resonate.
