Tamburlaine Organic Wines

Tamburlaine Organic Wines LEADING THE WAY
Tamburlaine was established in 1966.
(1063)

Named after Christopher Marlowe's famous play and character ‘Tamburlaine the Great’, we work to lead the way with our Contemporary Organics vision, successfully producing award-winning organic, vegan-friendly, low sulphur and no added sulphur wines. In 1985 the Hunter winery was purchased by a small group of friends and relatives led by Managing Director, Head of Grape and Wine Production, Mark Da

vidson. Through years of research and development, we have become one of Australia’s largest producers of organic wines with vineyards in the Hunter Valley and Orange region.

Three expressions of the same idea. Point 65 is our premium range for the table, built around the small differences altitude makes to Syrah, Chardonnay, and Malbec in Orange. One region, read three ways.

Less than a month out from school holidays means it's time to stock up.

Get your hands on some Lizard Drinking Rosé. It's Rosé the organic way. Pale, dry and precise.

We have it on good authority that the empty bottle makes a great backyard cricket bat too... 🏏 At both cellar doors and online.

It’s International Cabernet Sauvignon Day, and Father’s Day is Sunday. We’re not going to pretend that’s a coincidence.

Cabernet is the one you open for the roast, the barbecue, the long lunch that turns into a long afternoon. #
Order anything from us today and you’ll go into the draw to win a dozen Grass Roots Cabernet Sauvignon.

One winner, drawn Friday 4 September.

Mates rates are still running too, so there’s no bad time to sort him out.

One entry per order.

Last light over the Orange vineyard. The rows are bare now, resting through winter, but the work never really stops. Contemporary organic farming is a long game, measured in seasons rather than weeks.

Every barrel keeps a record. Vintage, block, and the slow work of time in French oak. This is where our fruit settles in and finds its shape. Certified organic, made with patience.

Spring officially starts today.

Check out this bud burst in the Hunter. Every one of these little green bursts has been sitting inside the vine since last summer, waiting for it to warm up enough to be worth the effort.

And a fair bit has gone into getting them here. Keeping the soil healthy without synthetic chemicals, of course. Pruning back what was left from the last harvest. Now the vines get to sit in the sun and do the rest, growing out into full bunches of grapes, all of it heading for a bottle you’ll open one day.

Enjoy the warmer weather as much as our vines are.

Our White Glove approach means being in the vines every single day.

We're always watching the weather and running our Bio-Scout unit to track spore loads across the blocks. That data tells us when we need to step in, and when we do, we only ever reach for organic-based sprays. Great wine is planned long before harvest. It starts in the vineyard and runs right through to production, which means working hand in hand with our viticulture team and knowing each block inside out. We can single out a specific block and shape it to achieve the exact result that showcases its quality. That's what organic farming helps us bring out. Certified organic, every block.

Bare rows and warm light on the high country at Borenore, Orange. The elevation here gives our fruit long, cool nights and slow ripening, and winter gives the vines their rest. Certified organic across every block, approved by Skippy too.
