After 27 years at Gilmore road it is now time to say goodbye to Infidel Studios. But don’t be sad, it isn’t gone. But it is changing.
Duncan will continue to work out of the bottom floor of the building doing Foley, audio post, digitisation of old audio formats, mixing, including Dolby Atmos mixing, and some music production work.
The old music studio space on the middle floor will now be run by Black Wattle Recording I wish them all the best and hope they have as much fun in that space as I have had over the years.
I would like to thank:
• Paco Villegas for placing his trust in me and getting me into the studio in the first place,
• All the staff, engineers, and anyone else who has worked in the place over the years. It wouldn’t have been the same (and wouldn’t have functioned) without you all,
• and all of the bands, musicians, sound artists, voice talent and any other clients. The quality and sheer variety of things that came through the door has been amazing.
And as for the name infidel, it is time for a change (probably should have changed it back in 2001 really). The bottom floor has been informally known as The Shoebox for some time now, so it seems that now is the time for me to change the name to … ShoeBox Audio.
