A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our July meeting.

We were fortunate to hear from Leigh Bramwell, Senior Community Nutritionist at who shared insights into the Staying Healthy in Supported Independent Living (SIL) Project and the importance of co-designing practical, person-centred approaches to healthy living.

Thank you also to Allison Wicks, CEO of Magnus Health for introducing the Redlands Care Coordination & Community Intelligence initiative. It was inspiring to hear how local organisations are working together to identify trends, strengthen collaboration, and build a more connected disability sector across the Redlands.

Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed to the conversations, and helped make the morning such a welcoming and valuable opportunity to connect. Every meeting is a chance to learn from one another, strengthen relationships, and continue building a brilliant, inclusive community.

Senior Community Nutritionist | Metro South Health

Leigh will introduce the Staying Healthy in Supported Independent Living (SIL) Project – a collaborative initiative between Metro South Health and The Hopkins Centre.

This exciting project is co-designing practical, person-centred healthy lifestyle strategies with people with disability living in Supported Independent Living. Come along to learn how this work is helping create healthier, more empowering living environments.

Allison will present Redlands Care Coordination & Community Intelligence – a collaborative initiative bringing local disability providers together to identify emerging trends, service gaps and opportunities across the Redlands.

Rather than focusing on individual participants, this approach uses shared, de-identified insights to strengthen referral pathways, improve collaboration, and help build a more responsive, connected disability sector for our community.

Reflecting on our May Redland Disability Network meeting, we're reminded that sometimes the most valuable part of coming together isn't the planned presentation - it's the opportunity to connect.

While our scheduled guest speaker was unfortunately unable to join us, the morning became a wonderful reset. We had the chance to grab a coffee, catch up face-to-face, share ideas, and have the kinds of conversations that strengthen our community.

Thank you to everyone who attended, including both new and familiar faces. These connections are at the heart of what Redland Disability Network is all about - creating a welcoming space where people can learn from one another, build relationships, and support a stronger, more connected sector.

We'll also be sharing an update from our AGM, held last week, very soon.

📣 Guest Speaker Announcement

We’re pleased to share that our guest speaker for the next Redland Disability Network meeting on Thursday, 18 June 2026 at 9.30am will be Emma Moore, Pathways Coordinator at (QAI).

Emma is the Coordinator of QAI’s Disability Advocacy Pathways team and leads their Disability Advocacy and Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Project. She works across Queensland to support engagement, community outreach, and stronger connections between the disability and DFV sectors.

Emma will be speaking with us about the services QAI provides, the work being undertaken through the Disability Advocacy and DFV Project, and how disability advocacy operates across Queensland.

This will be an important and valuable conversation for anyone working in, connected to, or supporting the disability sector.
