Vincent Industries is a Disability Enterprise; we are funded by the Department of Social Services to assist disadvantaged people with employment. Vincent Industries offers training opportunities for those with a disability and has been in business since 1976. It provides employment for 44 staff of which 39 employees are people with a disability. Vincent Industries core business is reliant on donat
ed clothing which are cut up into rags for cleaning product and exported to third world countries. Vincent Industries has become a major purchaser and exporter of pre-loved clothing in Tasmania. The textiles we purchase from charitable organisations in Tasmania, gives charities extra income and reduces landfill costs and amounts of landfill throughout Tasmania. To support this growing business we are always looking for extra donated clothing that can be brought into our store front on Jackson Street, or a pick up arranged in local areas. We also sort and sell buttons, cut fabric to be made into paper, fold and deliver catalogues and complete contracted seasonal work. Vincent Industries is always looking for new business opportunities so we can continue to provide employees with new skills. Along with providing employment opportunities for people living with a disability, we provide new experiences everyday for employees to gain confidence, self esteem, skill development and make new friends by working, and being part of a team.
