🚨First responders are attending emergencies on our roads and highways every day.
❗Please remember:
⚠️When approaching a stopped emergency vehicle with its lights flashing on the roadside, motorists are required to slow down to 60 km/h (or the posted speed limit, whichever is lower) AND move over to the lane farthest from the stopped emergency vehicle if that lane is free and it is safe to do so.
⚠️On a single-lane road where no extra lane is available, motorists must slow down to 60 km/h (or the posted speed limit, whichever is lower) and pass the emergency vehicle with caution.
⚠️If the emergency vehicle is stopped on the other side of a divided highway, motorists do not need to slow down or move over.
Fines start at $350 for a first time offence, however a judge can impose a higher fine if taken to court.
Let’s work together to keep everyone safe!
