✂️ Ribbon Cutting – Knoblauch & Associates – Co-operators

Last Friday, we had the pleasure of attending the 10th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting for Knoblauch & Associates – Co-operators, and it was great to see so many people come out to celebrate this important milestone.

It was a fantastic event, made even more special by joining in the celebration with Railtown as they marked a milestone of their own. From the BBQ and puppies to donations in support of Bandaged Paws, it was a great afternoon of community connection and celebration.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the event. We wish the team at Knoblauch & Associates – Co-operators all the best for the next 10 years and continued success in our region.

Moments like these are a great reminder of the strength and momentum of our local business community. Milestones like this reflect the dedication, growth, and community spirit that help make Grande Prairie and our region such a vibrant place to live, work, and do business.

Last week, the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce attended the 88th Alberta Chambers of Commerce Annual General Meeting and Policy Plenary Session in Whitecourt, alongside representatives from 32 Chambers across the province.

Our team was proud to take part in a strong few days of professional development, policy discussion, and collaboration with Chamber leaders from across Alberta. Sessions explored topics including economic leadership, trade and growth, lessons from past downturns, AI and automation in business, and building a workforce ready for the future.

The Policy Plenary Session saw all 28 resolutions adopted, including a policy co-sponsored by our Chamber and the Fort McMurray Chamber: Implementing an Emergency Economic Recovery Program for Natural Disasters and Evacuations. This policy recommends the development of a standardized, rapid-response recovery mechanism to support small and medium-sized businesses impacted by disasters and evacuations.

We are also excited to share that Grande Prairie’s Cindy Park of Northwestern Polytechnic was announced as Chair Elect for the Alberta Chambers of Commerce for the 2026–27 term.

And more exciting news — the 89th ACC AGM and Policy Plenary Session will be hosted in Grande Prairie next May. We are looking forward to welcoming Chamber leaders from across Alberta to our region and sharing more opportunities for our members to get involved in the months ahead.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Thursday for our Business After 5 Morning Mixer hosted by Costco Wholesale Canada

It was great to see so many people come out for a bit of a change of pace and start the day with networking, conversation, and connection. A big thank you to the Costco team for hosting us and providing a great space to bring our business community together. And of course, being able to get a little shopping done after networking was not a bad bonus either.

Events like these are a great reminder of the strength of our regional business community and the value of coming together in different ways to build relationships, create opportunity, and support one another.

✂️ Ribbon Cutting – Thatchwood Ventures Ltd. Mechanical Division

Last Friday, we had the pleasure of attending the Ribbon Cutting for Thatchwood Ventures’ new Mechanical Division, and it was great to see so many people come out to celebrate this exciting milestone.

It was also wonderful to see the team giving back through their garage sale and BBQ in support of our local The Kidney Foundation of Canada - Northern Alberta & the Territories Branch , reflecting the kind of community-minded leadership that helps strengthen our region.

We wish the entire Thatchwood Ventures team all the best as they continue to grow and expand their services.

Moments like these are a great reminder of the strength and momentum of our local business community. Growth, investment, and community support all play an important role in helping make Grande Prairie and our region such a vibrant place to live, work, and do business.
