Spent the day at Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank. Sorting, stocking, lifting, repeat.

A few hours in, you stop thinking of it as "volunteering" and see it for what it is: neighbours making sure other neighbours eat this week.

Food insecurity in Halifax isn't a statistic. It's families down the street, and the need keeps growing. The team at Parker Street shows up for them every single day.

Giving back to the community that's given me so much is the best part of the job.

50k done! I actually kept a New Year's resolution!
Back in January I told myself I'd do the Ride for Cancer this year. On the weekend, I did it: 51 km in just over two hours, with a couple of personal bests along the way.

A few weeks ago I asked for your support, and you showed up. Thank you to everyone who donated or sent a note. It meant more than you know, and it kept me pedalling when the legs started to complain.

I spend my days helping people grow their wealth. Rides like this remind me the most valuable kind is health, and the people in your corner.

In my world, we talk a lot about wealth, but ultimately, wealth is about having the ability to support the things that matter, including your health and your community.

Hey Facebook peeps, I usually talk about business, wealth and financial planning on here. Today, I’m sharing something a little more personal. 🎀 🚵‍♀️

This year, I wanted to push myself outside my comfort zone while doing something meaningful for myself, my family, my friends, my colleagues and our community here in Nova Scotia.

So, I committed to taking on a 50km bicycle ride in the BMO Ride for Cancer on October 3rd. I’ve been training throughout the year, and now I’m hoping to make all those kilometres count for something meaningful.

Like so many of us, cancer has touched the lives of people I care about. It has affected family, friends, colleagues and so many people throughout our community. This is my small way of doing something to help.

I’ve set a personal fundraising goal of $1,000, and I’m halfway there. If you’re able to donate, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every contribution helps support cancer care here in Nova Scotia, including the QEII, and comes with a tax receipt.
