Practical Solutions Based on Authentic Connection
At Inge Development, we believe that economic development begins with real conversations. Our approach, which we have called kitchen table economic development, started simply: sitting with community members around a well-worn wooden table on a small farm in northern British Columbia, sharing a bowl of soup while working together to complete grant
applications, tackle business challenges, and lay the groundwork for a strategy. As communities entrust us with increasingly complex socioeconomic challenges, we remain rooted in the spirit of collaboration that has defined our work from the beginning. We partner with small municipalities and First Nations to design and implement tailored solutions that connect grassroots engagement with strategic expertise. From empowering and training youth to take on leadership roles in their communities, to addressing challenges such as revenue generation, economic diversification, and social barriers like lateral violence, we focus on practical, innovative approaches that reflect the unique strengths and aspirations of the communities we serve. Our Commitments:
Delivering research-driven, actionable economic development strategies. Designing inclusive programs that align with community values and priorities. Adopting a holistic approach that considers the foundations of human and social development and their direct relationship to the achievement of economic goals. Ensuring access to quality resources, education, and opportunities for remote communities through a respectful, sensitive, and conscious perspective. Reducing structural barriers of inequality by fostering inclusion and ensuring that voices from all walks of life are heard and valued in every project. We are aware that each community we work with has its own story, shaped by unique challenges, strengths, and aspirations. Whether we are developing long-term strategies or gathering around the kitchen table for candid conversations, we are committed to turning those stories into ones of growth, resilience, and opportunity. By working closely with governments and First Nations, our goal is to build meaningful connections and generate sustainable, lasting impact. Let’s continue building meaningfully, together and united.
