Our approach, which we have called kitchen table economic development, started simply: sitting with community members around a well-worn wooden table on a small farm in northern British Columbia, sharing a bowl of soup while working together to complete grant
applications, tackle business challenges, and lay the groundwork for a strategy. As communities entrust us with increasingly complex socioeconomic challenges, we remain rooted in the spirit of collaboration that has defined our work from the beginning. We partner with small municipalities and First Nations to design and implement tailored solutions that connect grassroots engagement with strategic expertise. From empowering and training youth to take on leadership roles in their communities, to addressing challenges such as revenue generation, economic diversification, and social barriers like lateral violence, we focus on practical, innovative approaches that reflect the unique strengths and aspirations of the communities we serve.
