Spring Creative Inc. is incredibly proud to announce that our Principal Strategist, Fern, has been nominated for the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards.

A sincere thank you to Shauna Harper, CEO of WeBC, for the nomination. This recognition comes at a pivotal time as Fern continues her work as a Regional Ambassador, a journey that began over a decade ago when she first connected with the WeBC community as a business owner.

For nearly 30 years, Fern’s work has focused on the "silent architecture" of the region. She designs the brand infrastructure and digital systems that allow vital sectors to scale—from supporting local businesses, non-profits, and governments to the BC Games, healthcare, tourism revitalization, social equality, environmental initiatives, and agricultural planning.

Beyond the data, Fern is a dedicated champion for women business owners across the West Kootenays. Having navigated the unique challenges of building a business in a rural community herself, she is committed to ensuring our entrepreneurs have the digital tools and institutional support they need to thrive.

Please join us in celebrating this national recognition for a leader who builds the "bones" of our regional success.

Thank you to the Thewebc, Women of Influence, and RBC teams for this honour.

For those interested in the impact of this national program, you can learn more about the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards and their 34-year legacy here: https://www.womenofinfluence.ca/rbc-cwea/

Earth Day is just a few days away, but Spring Creative has been celebrating all month long! 🌿

Owner Fern Sabo was thrilled to take part in The Great Kokanee Escape at Lakeside Park on April 12th. Supporting the Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society is a long-standing tradition for Fern and the Spring Creative team, reflecting the company’s core values of environmental and community stewardship.

From participating in shoreline cleanups to supporting local fundraisers, Spring Creative remains dedicated to protecting our local waters and the community we call home.

It was a wonderful day spent with:

•Anna Dulisse (Environmental Writer)
•Grace Sabo (Living Lakes Canada)
•Beth Austin (Spring Creative) and her son.

We were proud to contribute as a donor this year and look forward to supporting this amazing organization and event again next year! 🛶💦

It is hard to believe a full year has passed since this journey began. As the Friends of the Games recruitment team wraps up its work for the Trail-Rossland 2026 BC Winter Games, our owner Fern Sabo is looking back on the experience with immense pride.

Despite being based in Nelson, being part of the Trail-Rossland team for the last 12 months has been a professional highlight for Fern. Volunteering for a project of this scale is truly a marathon, and the team finally celebrated crossing the finish line together—sharing the big wins, the hurdles cleared along the way, and plenty of laughs that made the 12-month commitment so rewarding.

Working as part of a "machine" of highly skilled professionals, the team stayed the course to ensure these Games would be a success. Because of that dedication, they didn’t just meet their sponsorship targets—they surpassed them! This success ensures a significant contribution to the Region’s Legacy Fund, supporting local athletes, facilities, and the future of sport across our Kootenay communities for years to come.

Because our team stayed the course, we didn't just meet our sponsorship targets—we surpassed them! This success ensures a significant contribution to the Region’s Legacy Fund, supporting local athletes, facilities, and the future of sport across our communities for years to come.

Fern was incredibly fortunate to work alongside such a powerhouse group and extends a special thank you to the BC Games Committee for their exceptional leadership and support throughout the year.

To the businesses across the Kootenays who stepped up as "Friends of the Games": thank you for believing in our region. We did it! 🥂🏔️

The spirit of the games is everywhere in Rossland! 🏔️✨

As the Trail-Rossland 2026 BC Winter Games wrap up their penultimate day, we are reflecting on a journey that began last summer. Spring Creative’s founder has been dedicated to this event for months, volunteering as the Recruitment Chair for sponsorships and partnerships.

It has been a true honor to work alongside a stellar leadership team, including Friends of the Games Director Erika Krest, Recognition Chair Jessica Tseng, and an entire group of talented individuals. From the "Proud Host" banners featuring partners like Teck to the major brand activations such as Subaru Canada at RED Mountain Resort, it’s been a privilege to see these partnerships come to life and support our regional athletes. 🤝🏅

Seeing the talent of the competitors today was a powerful reminder of why we believe in supporting the platforms where dedication and hard work can truly shine. ✨

Congratulations to all the athletes! If you are in the area, don’t miss the final day of the games tomorrow.
