Here's 4 steps to follow when doing your monthly fire extinguisher checks!

1. Ensure the needle on your pressure gauge rests firmly in the green zone. A needle in the red means the unit is under-pressurized or over-pressurized and needs professional service.

2. Look closely at the bottom seams of the cylinder for rust and corrosion. In damp environments like commercial kitchens, loading docks, and unheated parking garages, moisture damages metal cylinders long before annual tags expire.

3. Inspect the hose and nozzle for cracks, dry rot, or debris blockages. Pests frequently block nozzles in outdoor and parkade units, preventing chemical discharge.

4. Confirm the safety pin is firmly in place and the plastic tamper seal is intact. A missing pin or broken seal means the unit may have been tampered with or discharged
