ISFSI was honored to deliver the ISFSI Live Fire Fixed Facility Credential to members of the Point Lepreau Emergency Response Team in Maces Bay, New Brunswick, Canada!

Hosted at the New Brunswick Power Corporation – Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station, this intensive program brought together dedicated emergency response professionals committed to strengthening their knowledge, sharpening their instructional skills, and advancing safe, effective live fire training.

August is typically the driest month of the year which means an increased risk of wildfires.

Be prepared by:

• Having an emergency and evacuation plan
• Removing fire hazards around your home
• Sealing windows and doors to protect from heavy smoke conditions
• Preparing an emergency kit and go-bag.

When fires threaten:

• Monitor local radio, television or social media for information, warnings, air quality conditions, alerts or evacuation orders
• Follow instructions from authorities and emergency officials.
• Be ready to leave
• Do not attempt to drive through a wildfire unless directed by emergency officials and always follow official evacuation routes

As many are aware, the Pine Glen Rd. Forest Fire has reached 100% containment (per DNR). Thank you to all of the firefighters from both Riverview and Hillsborough as well as the team from DNR and Forest Protection Ltd. Team work makes the difference.

Following our earlier post this evening, we wanted to provide an update on the wildfire in the Pine Glen area.

Riverview Fire & Rescue responded this evening alongside the New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development (DNR) and Hillsborough Fire. DNR is leading the response, with support from local fire departments.

At this time, there is no imminent threat to the Town of Riverview. Residents are asked to stay away from the area so emergency crews can work safely.

We are aware of a forest fire outside of town limits. Riverview Fire & Rescue, DNR, and Hillsborough Fire are responding.

We ask that residents please stay away from the fire operations.
