“Accessibility shouldn’t be considered a luxury. It’s a need. And innovation can make it more achievable.”
That belief is at the heart of what Deaf AI is building.
Founded by Mehdi Masoumi, Deaf AI is developing AI-powered sign language avatars that help Deaf and hard-of-hearing travelers access critical information in airports and transportation hubs. Masoumi's vision is for Deaf AI to become the go-to solution for sign language translation, helping make communication more accessible wherever information needs to be shared.
The team recently reached an exciting milestone. Last month, Deaf AI launched its first pilot project at the Region of Waterloo International Airport, putting its technology to the test in a real-world environment and taking an important step toward broader adoption.
We're proud to have supported Deaf AI through our Aerospace Accelerator Program and to celebrate their recent graduation from the program.
