GWD was appointed to deliver a bespoke fire-rated glazing solution for a commercial project in Wakefield, providing a combination of functionality, safety and modern aesthetics.

The project included the installation of FRST E30 and FRST E60 fire-rated glazed windows, providing 30 and 60 minute fire resistance where required. The systems were designed to integrate seamlessly into the commercial environment while maintaining clear sightlines and allowing natural light to pass between areas.

The finished installation features clean, contemporary framing finished in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, complementing the surrounding industrial-style interior. The fire-rated glazing provides an effective combination of fire protection, visibility and architectural appeal, making it well suited to modern commercial spaces.

GWD were appointed to design, supply and install a series of glazed screens for a commercial flooring showroom in Carlisle, creating modern, open-plan spaces while maintaining the required level of safety and performance.

The project incorporated single-glazed screens using 13.5mm toughened laminated glass, designed to achieve a 0.74kN horizontal line load. This provided the required level of impact resistance and structural performance for the commercial environment.

The objective was to create modern, functional meeting rooms that maximise natural light while providing the necessary levels of acoustic privacy and fire protection.

The project incorporated our single glazed acoustic partitioning system with a single acoustic glazed door, creating a bright and professional meeting space with excellent sound insulation. The slim black aluminium framework provides a contemporary steel-look finish that complements the office's premium interior design.

To meet the building's fire safety requirements, we also installed our FRST EI30 fire-rated glazed door system. Offering 30 minutes of fire integrity and insulation, the system delivers certified fire protection while maintaining the same sleek aesthetic as the acoustic glazing, ensuring a consistent finish throughout the office.
