Results from 24th May 2026, open AV retriever working test held at Martin, Lincolnshire by kind invitation of Mr Barry Gillings, Mr Malcolm Black and The Blackdale Shoot.

𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟭 was a very long difficult mark followed by a blind near some trees

𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟮 was a water test with a mark across the pond and a blind on a bank

𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟯 was a mark over some ploughing followed by a blind at a tight angle

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗩 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Barton on Humber Gundog Club held their novice AV retriever working test on 3 May 2026 at High Santon, Lincolnshire by kind permission of Mr Jimmy Woodbridge.

We had a fantastic entry of 30 dogs and although the day was wet everyone seemed to enjoy the tests and have a good day.

𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟭 was judged by Paula Cullis (A panel) and this was a double mark in the woods with the dogs picking the last one thrown first

𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟮 was judged by Keith Eastwood (B panel) and this was a mark thrown into some rough cover and followed by a blind, picking the mark first then the blind

𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟯 was judged by Sue Rodgers (non panel) and this was a water retrieve which a single dummy being thrown on to a pond.

𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟰 was judged by Andrew Curtis (non panel) this was a one dog walk up, you walked with your dog to heel and a mark was thrown to the right then you continued walking to heel and a mark was thrown to the left

After the 4 tests 13 dogs were taken through to do a walk up where they first picked a mark and then a blind.

Thank you to all four of our judges who were amazing and did an excellent job.
