So just over a year ago Kobi was left terrified of men and especially those with a different colour skin and even more so if they had a beard after a work related incident.
I lost my confidence working him and he lost confidence in himself, he growled and barked aggressively at males.
In November his heart stopped after an allergy whilst undergoing a simple surgery. So he’s had to battle his way back to fitness on top of everything else.
This big guy has really been through it but I didn’t want to give up on him.
This week I’ve had fantastic support from colleagues who have stood their ground with him and his growling at them ,
not flinched at his barking and have been patient and understanding around the fear Kobi shows, after two days he is now everyone’s best friend!
When Kobi searches he forgets his issues and it’s allowed him to be submerged in people whilst his brain only thinks of one thing ….. to find the substances he’s trained on and realise he does not need to protect me and not everyone is out to hurt him.
I’m beyond proud to say
“ he’s smashed it “ this week .
I know a few dog handlers out there find fault in those words god knows why how you want to describe your dog and his or her achievements goals is up to you,
but
Kobi truly this week has smashed all the goals I had for him this summer, and this is only the start !!
Keep smashing it Kobi !!! 🐾❤️🐕💪💥
