Fuel Storage Solutions are a family run business started in 2002 and works with companies large and small up and down the UK.

Fuel Storage Solutions Limited (‘FSS’) concentrates on all aspects of fuel storage for diesel and oil. We supply, remove, service and install fuel storage tanks, pipework and ancillary items, and fuelling systems. We also offer full OFTEC approved, fuel storage tank inspections, integrity testing, and cleaning services. Inspections are conducted on the basis of current fuel regulations . FSS is a

company dedicated to the safe storage and use of liquid fuel. Whatever the type of fuel (including bio fuels, waste oil or LPG), we ensure that the product is stored and maintained safely and in line with the relevant, current regulatory requirements. We have an established reputation and experience within the commercial fuel tank market having assessed and installed fuel storage tanks for several Blue Chip companies in the UK.

Stuart Barr, Head of Sales marks his 2nd work anniversary at Fuel Storage Solutions.

Joining from a completely different industry and market sector, Stuart readily admitted at the outset that transitioning into engineering was his biggest challenge. Over the past 2 years he has got well and truly stuck into his role, getting to know and understand clients’ needs, becoming a problem solver and delivering bespoke solutions. His efforts and dedication are producing significant results.

Summing it up Stuart said: “I am proud to lead the Sales Team through this period of growth and very happy to see the continuing expansion with the addition of 2 new roles in the last few months. We have received some great feedback from customers and the team is working hard to maintain the momentum.

Our Projects Team is also going from strength to strength with the delivery of some excellent fuel system installations recently. Lots of hard work goes into taking a project from enquiry to completion but time after time the team delivers!”

National Dog Day 🐾

Today, on National Dog Day, we’re celebrating two very special regulars at Marin House, Fuel Storage Solutions HQ - 4-year-old Lily, a Staffy, and 13-month-old Crumpet, a St Bernard, Newfoundland and Rottweiler cross. 🐶❤️

Both Lily and Crumpet are a big part of life at home with the Barnetts, as well as being much-loved members of the office family!

National Dog Day is a chance to recognise the incredible role dogs play in our lives - from family pets and working dogs to service dogs, strays and rescue dogs.
It’s also an opportunity to shine a light on the many dogs in need of loving homes, and to raise awareness of responsible ownership, adoption, puppy mills, breed-specific legislation and animal cruelty.

As proud supporters of dog charities, including Linbee Dog Rehoming, we hope today helps highlight the vital work being done to give rescue dogs the second chance they deserve. 🐾

FSS - Broadening our reach and continuing our growth

We’ve entered an exciting period of development, responding to new products and service opportunities.

Growing our footprint within our industry inevitably means that we need to invite new talent to join our team. Delighted to say that we now have 3 additions to our engineering team, skilled Engineers that have started over the last couple of weeks. And we’re not stopping there as the search is ongoing to bring in an additional Senior Engineer.

At the heart of our operations the Fuel Storage Solutions Projects Team delivers quality and value to every project - from small polishing units right through to full fuel system upgrades, including all civil, mechanical, electrical and BMS works. To support this, we have created and filled a new role of Project Operations Manager and added an additional Scheduler starting this Autumn.

Expansion affects all operational aspects of a business so, to further support our infrastructure, we are actively recruiting a Procurement Manager and H&S Manager – both of these are new roles.
As you might imagine we are currently re-engineering the workspaces at Marin House, adding desks and vital equipment to welcome our new joiners.

Falklands Day

We’re proud to have played a part in improving the Falkland Islands’ infrastructure in recent years, providing engineering services including fuel tank inspections and pipeline improvements.

Our work took members of our Engineering Team on two separate expeditions, spending several months living, working and immersing themselves in the life and history of these wild and remote islands.

Falklands Day, celebrated on 14 August, commemorates the first recorded sighting of the Falkland Islands by John Davis in 1592.
We’re proud of the expertise, commitment and experience our team brought to this unique project.

Fuel Storage Solutions Engineer Dave Thorpe will be running the Great North Run for the 3rd time on 13th September, this time with his amazing wife Sandra Thorpe. They are running as a pair and staying together for the entire half marathon distance.

Dave has a ballot place but has also decided to run in support of the Royal British Legion hopefully raising funds for this fantastic charity of which FSS is also a huge supporter.
