We're ending the week on a high note! We recently underwent the 2023 LTInvertaxon Accreditation and are happy to announce we achieved 100 % in both parts of the test.

Out of 26 taxonomists from 14 European laboratories, we were one of the 8 analysts to achieve 100 % in the both images and specimen assessments.

Quality and accuracy is incredibly important to us at RiverWood Ecology and we will continue to ensure we are improving our taxonomic skills at every opportunity.

𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵: 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗪𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗨𝗞 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗧 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘅𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁.

Through our commitment to quality and accuracy, RiverWood Ecology Ltd. recently underwent the LT Invertaxon 2021 Proficiency Test via the Laboratorios Tecnológicos de Levante (LTL), Spain.

The test, to ISO17025 standards, assesses Freshwater Ecological taxonomists' identification and processing abilities through a prepared control sample and specimen photographs. It encompasses a wide range of European taxa from freshwaters and transitional waters, including taxa not found in the UK.

We achieved 98 % identification accuracy on Part 1 and 100 % accuracy on Part 2.

We're always learning here at RiverWood! It was really interesting to see taxa, such as 𝘊𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘴 and 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘱𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘦, which are not found in the UK. The test has identified areas for improvement and we'll certainly be striving for that perfect score next year.
