Her business – Hype Yourself – that helps those who are brilliant at what they do but hate talking about their work.

She has built a loyal following of 12,000 small business owners that love her approach, learning from her expertise of more than 20 years working in PR.

And yet she’s still on the search for places that feel like home.

She’s based in Provence, France and will be making the trip over to the UK next month to be part of Summercamp for the first time.

It’s now less than 4 weeks away.

And she can’t wait.

She’s heard lots about it from friends that have come over the years and now it’s her turn to experience it for herself.

She sat down with Carlos this week and shared a little about why she is drawn to this unique gathering, and the shared community wisdom she can tap into.

“There aren’t that many places for business owners like us, who maybe want do things a bit differently. Who want to make the world a better place. Who are ambitious, but it’s not about profit above everything else. It’s about having a life that we want to live.

That’s quite rare.

So to be in a place with over 100 people like that makes me really excited.“

“Summercamp is a friend factory”

We first heard someone say this back in 2013 after our first gathering.

And we’ve heard similar things after every event we’re run since.

Our community stems from friendship.

Connection builds connection.
Our story is your story.
Trust builds trust.

20 years ago we fell into business.
But felt out of connection.

We had friendship.
But the business world didn’t value that.

So rather than get on the complain train, we set out to do things differently.

Looking back we wanted to be the same people with fellow business owners, as we were with our friends.

It was a simple need.
To be ourselves, and that be ok.

Not to be one person in business and another at home.

Little did we know that it would take us all around the world, collecting friends along the way.

We continue in this vein.

Summercamp in September will be another friend factory.

When you’re in the right spaces with the right people, connection happens effortlessly.

Our biggest Ideas Café in years.

Thanks to everyone that came, and to all the volunteers that helped facilitate.

Some came with a burning question, and left brimming with ideas.

Others came with a current challenge and left feeling less alone.

This is why we created Ideas Café.

It’s our gift to give founders a place to come and be real.

No egos.
No small talk.
No cringey networking.

Just inspiration, learning and connection on tap.

Our annual Summercamp crew meet up earlier today, with a few on Zoom.

We love this ritual, kindly hosted by Claire Knill at her gorgeous studio in Hove.

This gathering means that Summercamp is just around the corner.

Over 3 days in September, this group of humans will create magic.
