🎓 “I already have a Level 4. Does that count?”🤔
It’s one of the questions we hear most often, and the answer might surprise you!
Not all Level 4 qualifications are the same. The same applies to Levels 5 and 7. Your qualification must be relevant to the specialist pathway you want to progress onto.
For example, a Level 4 qualification in Laser and Light Therapies does not automatically meet the entry requirements for the VTCT Level 5 Skin Rejuvenation pathway.
The relevant foundation is Level 4 Advanced Aesthetic Therapies for Skin Rejuvenation, covering essential knowledge and practical skills in skin science, consultation, skin needling and skin peeling.
⚠️ And with changes to aesthetics regulation on the horizon, now is the time to review your qualifications.
The government is progressing plans for stricter regulation of aesthetic treatments in England, including proposed green, amber and red risk categories, practitioner licensing and qualification requirements.
If you’ve built your career through CPD courses, now is a good time to explore how your existing training and experience could support your progression towards recognised, regulated qualifications.
Your CPD training still has value, but it isn’t automatically equivalent to a regulated qualification.
