🎥 Catherine takes a closer look at this remarkable piece of Beatles history.

Commissioned by John Lennon in 1965, Lot 168 is a unique seven-heart wrought iron balustrade, made by local blacksmith George Burt for his Aunt Mimi’s chalet bungalow, Harbour’s Edge, in Sandbanks, Poole.

Aunt Mimi was the woman who raised Lennon from the age of five, and the pair remained incredibly close throughout his life. Lennon commissioned the distinctive heart motifs as a personal tribute to the woman who had raised him and bought him his first guitar.
