“What do I actually book?” is one of the most common messages I get.

And my answer is:

You don’t need to know.

Most clients don’t walk into my clinic saying:

“Hello Louise, I’d like strategic midface volume restoration with correction of my pre-jowl hollow please.” 😂

They say:

“THIS bit is bothering me.”

“My mouth looks sad.”

“My face has gone gaunt since I lost weight.”

“These folds have suddenly appeared.”

“My jawline has disappeared.”

“I look tired even when I’m not.”

THAT’S enough information for me.

Because where you notice ageing isn’t necessarily where I’d automatically start putting filler.

I’ll look at your face as a whole, talk to you about what has changed and what you actually want to improve, and then tell you what I think is worth treating.

And importantly…

I’ll also tell you what I DON’T think you need.

So please don’t sit scrolling through my booking system trying to diagnose your own face. 😂

“‘I want filler… I just don’t want to LOOK like I’ve had filler.’”

If I had £1 for every woman who said this during a consultation… 😂

Usually she isn’t frightened of filler itself.

She’s frightened of too much filler.

Huge cheeks.
Massive lips.
A face that suddenly doesn’t look like hers anymore.

And especially with my more mature clients, that is very often the exact opposite of what they want.

They don’t come to me asking to look 20.

They say things like:

“I look tired all the time.”
“My face looks like it’s dropping.”
“I’ve lost weight and suddenly I look gaunt.”
“I just want to look a bit fresher.”

And THAT is where good facial assessment matters.

Sometimes the answer might be cheek support.

Sometimes it might be lips.

Sometimes several areas need balancing.

And sometimes I’ll tell you I don’t think you need filler there at all.

My job isn’t to see how many syringes I can put into your face.

It’s to work out what will actually improve the thing that’s bothering you — while still leaving you looking like YOU.

I DIDN’T PUT FILLER IN HER LOWER FACE. 👀

Yet look what happened to the appearance of it.

This is one of my favourite examples of why I don’t automatically chase the line that a client points to.

She was treated with cheek filler only.

As we lose volume and support through the midface, changes can become noticeable further down — including around the folds and lower face.

So rather than simply putting filler directly into every line we could see, I worked on restoring strategic cheek support and balance.

Now swipe between the before and after.

Look at the cheeks, yes…

But then look at the nasolabial area, the shadows around the mouth and the overall appearance of the lower face.

THAT’S the bit I want you to notice. 👀

No attempt to erase every line.

No attempt to make her look 25.

No changing what makes her look like her.

Just carefully placed filler and a beautifully natural-looking result. 🤍

LOOK CLOSELY AT HER “BEFORE” LIPS. 👀

The two sides weren’t the same.

So treating them exactly the same wouldn’t have made sense.

Before injecting, I mapped her lips and planned where each side needed support, shape and balance — then adapted my placement accordingly.

And THIS is why I bang on about lip mapping. 😂

Lip filler isn’t simply:

“Here’s 1ml — let’s put half on each side.”

Your natural anatomy determines the treatment.

The goal here wasn’t to manufacture perfectly symmetrical lips — natural faces aren’t perfectly symmetrical.

It was to respect what she already had and create a more balanced, defined result without overpowering her face.
