Electric vehicles don't have combustion noise to mask anything. That makes vibration management a harder problem than it was. ⚡

TICO S anti-vibration pads and mounts are purpose-built for exactly this — isolating structural vibration in high-load assemblies. Motor mounts, battery tray isolation, powertrain mounting systems: the material has the load rating, the compression set resistance, and the long-term durability that EV manufacturers require.

If your engineering team is speccing vibration isolation for EV platforms, we're the people to speak to.

The wrong rubber adhesive doesn't just underperform — it causes premature failure. ⚠️

Not all rubber compounds bond the same way. EPDM needs a specific primer before contact adhesive will take. Silicone is notoriously difficult to bond to anything without specialist silicone adhesive. Natural rubber and Neoprene respond differently to the same product.

The most common mistake is using a general-purpose contact adhesive on everything. It might hold initially. Under temperature, vibration, or movement it comes apart — and then someone wonders why the seal failed.

If you're bonding rubber in a critical application, get the adhesive right first time.

In healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing, the rubber specification isn't something you estimate. It's something you verify. 🔬

Silicone is the dominant material in this sector — biocompatible, chemically inert, cleanroom-appropriate, and available in FDA-compliant and food-grade grades. It's used in peristaltic pump tubing, seals in filling and packaging equipment, and gaskets in sterilisation systems.

The wrong compound — a Nitrile or Neoprene part in a steam sterilisation environment, for example — doesn't just degrade. It contaminates.

Delta Rubber supplies pharmaceutical-grade silicone tubing, sheet, and extrusions. ISO 9001 certified. If you're speccing for a regulated environment, we know the requirements.

We don't import and re-badge. We manufacture. 🇬🇧

Our products are made in-house at our Christchurch, Dorset facility — by a team with over 110 years of combined experience in rubber. That means we control quality at every step, we can produce non-standard sizes and bespoke specifications, and we're not dependent on overseas supply chains.

For procurement teams navigating supply chain disruption, that distinction matters more than it used to.

ISO 9001 certified. British manufacturing. In stock and ready to go.

An O-ring is not just a size. The compound is half the specification — and getting it wrong is one of the most common reasons seals fail. 🔩

Here's how the selection actually works:

Fluid compatibility first. What is the O-ring sealing? Hydraulic oil, fuel, water, steam, solvents? Each fluid attacks different compounds. Nitrile handles petroleum-based fluids. EPDM is the choice for water, steam, and brake fluid. Viton goes where chemical resistance is the priority. Silicone handles temperature extremes.

Then temperature range. Most Nitrile O-rings are rated to +120°C. EPDM takes more. Viton and Silicone operate well beyond where standard compounds fail.

Then dynamic or static. Moving seals need a compound with the right hardness and wear characteristics. Static applications have more flexibility.

If you're ordering O-rings and you're not certain on compound — call us. Getting it right first time costs less than replacing a failed seal.

If your seal keeps failing in a chemical environment, it probably isn't Viton. Viton doesn't fail there.

FKM fluoroelastomer is the highest-spec material we stock. It's built for chemical processing, oil refineries, fuel systems — anywhere acids, solvents, and hydrocarbons are present at elevated temperatures. Where Nitrile or EPDM degrades in weeks, Viton keeps going.

It costs more. In the applications it's designed for, you'll spend less replacing it.

Can't find the right size O-ring? Make a seal from rubber cord instead.

Cut it to length, form it into a loop, bond the ends with contact adhesive. Custom continuous seal, any diameter, any perimeter — done in minutes. No tooling, no mould, no minimum order.

Available in EPDM, Neoprene, Silicone, and Nitrile, in solid and sponge. Tank lids, inspection hatches, large bore fittings — it's the practical fix.

Solid rubber bridges a gap. Sponge strip fills it.

If the surface isn't perfectly flat — slight misalignment, an uneven frame, a gap that varies — sponge strip is what you need. It compresses and conforms. Solid rubber doesn't.

We stock it in EPDM, Neoprene, and Silicone sponge grades, with self-adhesive backing available for fast installation. Door seals, hatch seals, enclosure seals, access panels — it handles all of it.

SBR won't appear on a technical specification sheet. Nobody talks about it. It just does the job.

Styrene Butadiene Rubber is tough, economical, and abrasion resistant — the right choice when you don't need anything exotic. Industrial flooring, conveyor lagging, wear strips, site matting. If the job is straightforward, the material should be too.

We stock SBR sheet and matting in standard widths. Custom cut sizes available.

Plain rubber sheet works fine until you put it under real bolt load. Then it stretches, creeps, and eventually fails.

Insertion rubber has a cotton or nylon fabric layer through the body of the sheet. That stops it stretching. It won't creep, won't extrude, won't take a set under compression. For pump gaskets, flanged joints, and compressor mounts, it's not the premium option — it's just the correct one.

If you've had plain sheet fail under load, this is what you should have been using.
