Eastbourne Scrap Store Eastbourne Scrap store is a place where you can donate & buy cheap recycled arts and crafts materials & do your bit to recycle.

Our volunteers sort the scrap & we also offer free and low cost workshops where you can learn new skills and meet new friends. Welcome to the Eastbourne Scrap Store! The Eastbourne Scrap Store is based on the principle of reduce, reuse and recycle. It works by taking re-usable, safe, clean waste products (‘scrap’) donated by individuals and local businesses that can be repurposed by its members into pieces of art, crafts and gifts. Members pay a small fee to collect scrap from the store for personal and group use within the community. The Scrap Store stores also provide an outreach provision in the form of workshops where participants can demonstrate examples of ways in which they can put ‘reducing, reusing and recycling’ into practice in a shared environment and have a better understanding of their commitment to improving the environment; the local economy; and society by reducing waste in landfill.

It was all swords, sheilds and battlefields today for our needle felt Viking workshop.
Our crafters had the choice of making either a viking warrior or a b***y viking w***h, and oh my goodness didn't their characters shine through!
We might have to run another one so that everyone can make the other half of the pair... 😊

And... We're back!
It was so exciting to be back in the Eastbourne Scrap Store today, seeing old faces and new, accepting donations again and the start of our new KIDS AFTER SCHOOL CRAFT CLUB.
Today we made flower presses 🌸. We decorated the wood for the top and bottom with paint and sticky on things, then we all went and chose some flowers to press 🥀 🌸 🌻 💐
All the kids were allowed to drill their own holes for the bolts (with parents permission and under supervision!), before putting everything together.
We'll be using the flowers we pressed today later in the month to make candle holders from jars🫙 and then they can use their presses over and over again - how exciting!
NEXT WEEK = clay snails 🐌 🐌

Last entry half an hour before closing.

We are based in Elsie Woolmer Hall at the rear of Langney Community Centre in Etchingham Road Eastbourne BN23 7DX.

If you're facing the main entrance of the centre, take the road to the left that leads round to the back of the centre and our entrance is on the first roughly hand corner opposite the Chinese Takeaway.

EVERYTHING SEWING event, Sunday 27 September, 10am-2pm

We've got crates and crates of fabric of all kinds, mix and match for absolute bargain prices.

We've got FREE mystery scrap fabric bags - oodles of loveliness :-)

We've got packs of cottons
We've got bunting kits
We've got sewing machines - vintage to modern electric
We've got habidashery items including those they don't sell anymore ;-)
We've got embroidery items and threads
We've got cross-stitch bits and bobs
We've got sewing and knitting patterns

Oouff! We've got so much stuff you'll have to come along yourself to see it all!
