“Say yes when opportunity knocks.”

That was one of the key messages from this week’s 10-minute presentation by James Swinyard of JMS Systems at BNI Faversham.

James shared how he started his business while still in sixth form and university, originally focusing on web development before pivoting into IT support as demand grew.

Today, JMS Systems helps businesses and homeowners with everything from Microsoft 365 and cybersecurity to CCTV, WiFi, phone systems, backups, cabling and IT support.

A great reminder that the right IT infrastructure isn’t an expense—it’s an investment that saves time, money and headaches further down the line.

A huge thank you to Vik from McMillan Financial Services for organising the volleyball event to help raise money for Connect & Thrive in Herne Bay. 🏐

It was a brilliant afternoon bringing local businesses and the community together for a great cause.

One of the things I love about BNI is that it’s not just about what happens during the weekly referral meetings. It’s about supporting each other, building relationships, giving back to our communities and helping businesses thrive both inside and outside the room.

Events like this are a perfect example of that.

A fantastic effort by everyone involved, and a great reminder that business networking can create a positive impact far beyond referrals.
