Restorative Social Care Services is created from three experienced social care managers’ drive to offer something different to children and young people who come into care.

Residential Care Senior Therapeutic Support Worker
Location: Calderdale

This is an exciting opportunity for a person who has experience of working with children and is committed to working therapeutically to make a difference to young people who may have suffered trauma and present with difficulties. You will join our high-quality, expanding social care service as a Senior Therapeutic Support Worker and assist the Zonal Manager and Registered/ Service Manager/s in ensuring all responsibilities of Restorative Social Care Services provisions for children and young people are met.

We’re looking for someone who has experience of working with young people, either in residential care, supported accommodation or other relevant setting, who is ready to take on a more senior role, work therapeutically and develop their practice to take the next step in their career.

You’ll demonstrate your commitment to working therapeutically and have a strong belief in how this approach is effective for working with children and young people who present with attachment and trauma difficulties. You’ll also relish the opportunity to make a difference every day to the children and young people we support, celebrating their successes as well as your own, as you progress in your therapeutic social care practice and gain new qualifications.

Residential Care Therapeutic Support Worker

We follow a model of care that’s innovative within the industry; prioritising continuity of care and a strengths-based approach to progress young people and improve their outcomes for a happier, more successful life.

Therapeutic support

Our model of care has an additional therapeutic element. Here, we use a therapeutic approach to makes sense of a young person’s difficulties, development and motivations in order to help move that young person forward. It’s an approach that empowers the relationship between carer and young person to be the most effective tool for creating change.

The role

It’s essential that the successful applicant for this post demonstrates the view that therapeutic care approaches are vital for working effectively with children and young people who present with attachment and trauma difficulties.
The care approach is relationship-focused, and the successful applicant will be supported to become more self-aware, knowledgeable and skilled in working therapeutically with young people who have experience of significant early life trauma. Therefore, it’s essential applicants demonstrate the desire to engage with ongoing training and development.

Support Accommodation Bank Support Worker

We follow an innovative model of support within the industry, prioritising continuity of support and a strengths-based approach. It’s a model that ensures the success stories of many of the young people we work with, and improves their outcomes for happier, more successful lives.

We couldn’t be prouder of the work we do to support young people transitioning, or on their journeys, to independent living, and we are now looking for a Support Worker to join our supported accommodation team. We’re pleased to say our team is expanding, so we can deliver more innovative support to young people who need it; either living alone or in group supported accommodation provision.
