Fine wines from the Surrey Hills The vineyard is open for tastings and sales on Saturdays, and some Sundays and bank holidays (check website).

Albury Organic Vineyard is situated on the southern slopes of the North Downs in the beautiful Surrey Hills, just outside Guildford on the A25 towards Dorking. Vineyard tours run between May and September each year (book online at www.alburyvineyard.com)

The vines are the traditional Champagne varietals of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier as well as some Seyval and Pinot Gris. We produce still and sparkling wine of the highest quality; our wines have now won numerous international awards and are served at some of the country's best restaurants. We are committed to producing organic fruit without the use of chemicals such as herbicides and fungicides. Whilst copper and sulphur are permitted in organic vineyards we minimise their use. We also use compost teas, which improve the biology of the soil and biodynamic preparations. We believe that this approach, encouraging the natural biology of the land, will produce premium fruit and therefore great wine. The vineyard is privately owned by Nick Wenman who lives in Albury near to the vineyard. It is managed by Alex Valsecchi who until recently was at at RHS Wisley responsible for the Orchard, Nursery, Model Fruit Area and the Vineyard. Alex has extensive experience in Vineyard Management having created the vineyard at Wisley following several years practical experience working on vineyards in New Zealand.

The secret’s out…

For the first time ever, we’re making a still red w**e at Albury Vineyard! 🍷🍇

And it’s all thanks to a rather extraordinary 2026 harvest.

One of the hottest summers in recent years brought exceptional ripening conditions, giving us our earliest harvest ever, with picking starting on 27th August - almost four weeks ahead of our usual schedule.

Our amazing vineyard team, joined by nearly 400 volunteers from our local community, helped pick over 51 tonnes of grapes, making 2026 our second largest harvest on record!

And the really exciting news? The glorious summer sunshine allowed our Pinot Noir grapes to ripen beautifully, giving us the opportunity to produce our very first still red Pinot Noir.

We’re planning a limited release of just 1,000 bottles, expected in 2028 or 2029. It’ll be a little while before we can share it with you, but we think it’ll be worth the wait.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this remarkable harvest possible 🫶

The harvest at Albury may have finished a few weeks ago, but there are still plenty of little bunches left on the vines that weren’t quite ripe enough to pick at the time 🍇

These secondary bunches never usually get the chance to ripen before the colder weather arrives.

But this year has been a little different! Thanks to our unusually early harvest and the lovely Autumn sunshine we’ve enjoyed since, those little bunches have kept on ripening. And there are rather a lot of them!

It’s too late to use them for w**emaking, but we didn’t want all those lovely grapes to go to waste…

So we invited our local community to come along and pick as many as they liked to take home for making jam, jelly or juice!

A lovely way to make the most of an unexpected bonus harvest, share a little of what our vineyard has to offer and make sure nothing goes to waste.

Now we’d love to know what everyone makes with their grapes! 🍇

Ever wondered what happens to the grapes once they leave the vineyard?

So many of you have been part of our harvest story this year, whether you’ve helped pick grapes, visited us during harvest or simply followed along here. We thought you’d enjoy seeing what happens next!

We share lots of life in the vineyard, but you don’t often get to see what goes on behind the scenes at the w**ery.

These clips show one of the first stages of w**emaking: destemming. It’s exactly what it sounds like! The grapes are separated from their stalks, ready for the next stage of their journey.

And there’s something particularly exciting about these particular Pinot Noir grapes 👀

We recently shared that we’re experimenting with a new w**e at Albury and asked you to guess what it might be. It’s something we’ve never made before… 🍷

Albury Vineyard is an ‘unexpected gem’!

Thinking about visiting this Autumn? We recently received this lovely review which really sums up the Albury experience 🥂

“If you fancy a little bit of something very English, peaceful and charming, pop to Albury Vineyard!

We popped into the vineyard shop on a walk with our dog, before we set foot inside our 3 year old whippet was smiling being greeted by a water bowl and treats!

We decided to have a sit amoung the vines and order a w**e, due to a very welcoming lady. We ended up sampling the cheese board (stunning cheeses) and local breads... I have to say, the charcuterie board also looked tempting!

There was also a Dog menu for Bessie.

The sun was shining, the scenery was pretty, it was just an all round, unexpected, fabulous place!
Will be back !!”
