It’s easy for boys to look up to men like David Haye - strong, confident, successful. And that’s not a bad thing in itself.

But when behaviour crosses into aggression, disrespect or shutting others down, those same moments can quietly shape what boys think being a man should look like.

That’s why situations like this matter.

Not for criticism or judgement but because they give us a real, relevant way in.

A chance to ask:
💬 “What did you think about how he acted?”

You can help your son start to see that real strength isn’t about dominating others, hiding emotions or proving toughness at all costs.

It’s about:
– self-control
– respect for others
– emotional awareness
– knowing when to step back, not step in
– having the confidence to disagree without putting someone down

These aren’t always the loudest traits but they’re the ones that build trust, resilience and long-term respect.
And boys don’t just learn this by being told, they learn it through conversations, reflection and what we consistently reinforce.

Moments like this, whether it’s TV, sport or something happening at school, are opportunities to help them shape their own definition of what it means to be strong.
