β˜€οΈ Stay Safe and Look Out for Each Other.

With a spell of hot weather upon us, it's a good opportunity to remind ourselves of the importance of working safely in the heat.

πŸ’§ Stay Hydrated
Drink water regularly throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty. Dehydration can creep up quickly when working outdoors or in warm environments.

🧴 Protect Your Skin
Use suitable sunscreen, wear a hat where appropriate, and consider lightweight clothing that provides protection from the sun.

🌳 Seek Shade
Take regular breaks in shaded or cooler areas where possible, particularly during the hottest part of the day.

πŸ“… Plan Ahead
Consider whether physically demanding tasks can be rescheduled to cooler periods of the day. If a task isn't essential, or if it involves working in particularly hot environments such as loft spaces, roof voids, or enclosed areas, it may be sensible to postpone it until temperatures are more manageable.

πŸ‘€ Look Out for Others
Keep an eye on colleagues and be aware of the signs of heat stress, heat exhaustion, and dehydration.
The warm weather is there to be enjoyed, but a little planning and common sense can go a long way in helping everyone stay safe and well.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and enjoy the sunshine. β˜€οΈ

Yesterday's site visit was with our valued client, MyTy Homes, at their Llancarfan development in the Vale of Glamorgan.

This exciting project involves the refurbishment and conversion of the former CP Primary School buildings into three residential units, together with the construction of three new dwellings and all associated infrastructure works, including drainage, access roads, parking areas, and other enabling works.

The soft strip phase has been successfully completed and enabling works are progressing well.

Refurbishment activities within the existing buildings are also advancing, with carpentry, insulation, wall lining, and associated construction works currently underway.

Under the watchful eye of Site Manager,
Dale Dickenson, the project continues to make steady progress.

Positive engagement with the site management team was evident throughout the visit, with good standards of health and safety management observed and appropriate risk control measures implemented for the activities being undertaken.

A well-organised site, clear commitment to safe working practices, and encouraging progress made on what will be a fantastic redevelopment of this historic site.

A lovely site visit this morning to sunny Tenby, where we carried out our second visit to our new client, Carreg Construction Ltd.

The project involves the sensitive redevelopment of Nyth Aderyn, a Grade II listed Victorian cliff-top landmark, with a scope including extensive renovation works and the construction of high-quality outbuildings. These include a gym on the upper terrace, a mid-terrace treehouse-style study, and a sauna on the lower terrace, all designed to make the most of the unique coastal setting and outstanding views.

From a workmanship perspective, the standard observed was excellent, with clear attention to detail and high quality delivery throughout.

From a health and safety perspective, the project is well managed and positively organised, with a clear commitment to maintaining high standards and ensuring safe working practices are implemented.

Overall, a well run project in a stunning location, showcasing excellent construction quality and what will undoubtedly be a very special end result.

Good to be on site yesterday at the former Red Dragon public house on Moorland Road, Sandfields, where demolition is progressing well ahead of a 22-home development by Castell Group.

The scheme will deliver 16 one-bed and 6 two-bed flats, designed with solar PV, air source heat pumps, and a strong focus on energy efficiency.

Our valued client Tai Tarian will take on the homes upon completion.

Demolition works by Haywood Crushing Demolition Ltd under Ian Plant, are being carried out to a very high standard. Clear evidence of strong planning, coordination, and site control, alongside effective communication with neighbouring properties.

Despite mixed weather, dust suppression measures were well managed, combining natural conditions with active controls to minimise airborne particulates.

A well-run site and a very positive visit πŸ‘.

Looking forward to seeing the next phase progress.

Great to carry out our final health and safety inspection earlier today with our valued client TRJ - T Richard Jones (Betws) Ltd at Parc Penrhiw, Ammanford.

This project, delivered by TRJ and their supply chain on behalf of Pobl Group is nearing completion and ready for handover.

It’s been particularly pleasing to see not only strong health and safety performance maintained throughout, but also the transformation in the properties themselves bringing them right up to modern standards and significantly enhancing their overall appearance.

Congratulations to the whole team, TRJ, the supply chain, and everyone involved for a job well delivered πŸ‘

A real collaborative effort and a positive outcome for the community.

A long but thoroughly enjoyable day spent supporting our valued client, Lloyd and Pawlett Removals Ltd, at Waterston Industrial Estate, Milford Haven, as part of their tender submission process.

It’s been a great change from the usual routine, and as they say, a change really is as good as a rest.

Days like today are a good reminder of the importance of collaboration, attention to detail, and putting forward the best possible submission.

A big thank you to the team for placing their trust in us to support them with something so important to their business. It’s always appreciated and never taken for granted.

Wishing you every success with your submission, fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

Great to see the new Science Faculty building progressing well, along with the covered link connecting back to the existing school. Positive progress across the site, with good safety arrangements in place, particularly important within a live comprehensive school environment.

In line with the recent glorious weather, it’s also a timely reminder to manage the risks associated with working in the heat. Regular hydration, use of sun protection, and taking opportunities to work in shaded areas where possible are all simple but essential control measures.

Good conversations on site and encouraging to see standards being maintained πŸ‘

Return visit inspection this morning at the The Grand Hotel Swansea, and great to see the next phase of works well underway.

Structural steel installation is now in full swing as the new extension starts to take shape, with internal demolition works also progressing in line with the planned sequencing of the project.

Good to see safe access arrangements, lifting operations, work areas and overall site coordination being managed well as the project continues to move forward over the coming weeks.

A tidy and organised site with works clearly planned, monitored and progressing positively. πŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈπŸ—οΈ

The approved development will significantly expand the hotel and form part of the ongoing regeneration of Swansea city centre, including a substantial rear extension and upgraded facilities.

Good to be back at Withybush General Hospital today carrying out a health and safety inspection in relation to the ongoing refurbishment and improvement works being undertaken by TRJ - T Richard Jones (Betws) Ltd.

Works are currently progressing within Ward 1 and Puffin Ward, following the successful completion of Ward 3 refurbishment works.

The ongoing programme forms part of wider improvement and modernisation activity across the hospital estate, helping to enhance patient environments, improve fire safety measures, and support the long-term future of healthcare facilities within Pembrokeshire.

Positive to see good standards being maintained on site, with works progressing in a live hospital environment whilst maintaining segregation, safety, and continuity of hospital services.
