Another busy day, this time, at Coed Darcy, carrying out today’s health and safety visits across both the upper and lower construction sites for TRJ - T Richard Jones (Betws) Ltd.

Good to see continued progress across the development, with the upper site moving into the later stages of construction. A number of properties are now really taking shape, as the homes move towards completion and handover.

Across the wider sites, the latest builds are also progressing well, with the various trades continuing to work through the construction programme.

As always, today’s visits provided an opportunity to review site conditions, construction activities and general health and safety arrangements, while working alongside the site teams to help maintain safe standards as the developments progress.

And on a slightly less technical note…
it’s also nice to see a bit of green returning to the site! 🌱 After the battering the grass took through the recent hot, dry weather, it looks like things are finally starting to recover.

It’s great to see the continued transformation and the progress being made towards delivering these modern, energy-efficient homes.

Final visit to Augustus Grange, Haverfordwest.

It was a pleasure to make our final visit to the Augustus Grange development this morning, supporting DKAN Groundworks Ltd as the project approaches completion.

DKAN Groundworks Ltd have delivered a comprehensive range of works throughout the project, including:

🔸️Site clearance and preparation
🔸️Groundworks and drainage
🔸️Road construction and footpaths
🔸️Concrete works
🔸️Substructures to DPC level
🔸️General construction and associated groundworks

It has been an absolute pleasure supporting the team throughout the project, with a strong focus on health and safety, quality, competence and professional standards throughout.

A great project to be involved with and a credit to everyone who has contributed to its delivery 👏

Today saw our initial site visit to the LLOYD & GRAVELL LIMITED development off Cilycwm Road in Llandovery, where the site setup is taking shape nicely.

The development will provide 14 affordable homes for Carmarthenshire County Council, comprising:
🏠 4 × one-bedroom apartments
🏠 6 × two-bedroom dwellings
🏠 2 × three-bedroom dwellings
🏠 2 × two-bedroom dwellings

P Beynon Groundworks & Fencing
have pushed on making the most of the recent dry conditions, getting on with the site access, oversite works, and most recently, excavations, concreting.

The project has now reached the blockwork stage, with construction advancing to DPC level.

A very positive initial visit, and great to see the site taking shape 👏 👷‍♂️

Today’s audit and inspection at the Ysgol Bryngwyn development, alongside LLOYD & GRAVELL LIMITED, highlighted the excellent level of planning and coordination taking place ahead of the imminent return of school staff on 1st September, followed by pupils returning on 7th.

With ongoing construction activities continuing alongside an operational school environment, it is very much all hands on deck to ensure the transition is as smooth and seamless as possible.

There has been excellent collaboration between Site Manager Gary Price, the school team and the Local Authority, with careful planning and arrangements being put in place to manage the interface between the construction works and the learning environment.

Particular consideration is being given to maintaining safe separation, minimising disruption and ensuring the continued health, safety and wellbeing of everyone using the school.

It was also great to see the developing interface between the existing school building and the new elements of the scheme coming together.

Overall, a very well managed project, with strong communication and collaboration helping to support the delivery of a safe and positive learning environment for the young people of Ysgol Brynbwyn.

A return visit today to the former Red Dragon public house site at Moorland Road in Sandfields, Port Talbot, where demolition works have now been completed and reduced level excavation and enabling works are progressing well.

Off-site drainage works have also been completed with the project now moving towards the next stage to enable setting out and excavation for the development of 22 energy efficient apartments.

Another productive health and safety inspection, with the site being well managed by Castell Group's
Project Manager, Chris Gregory.

Good to see the project progressing safely and efficiently, and we look forward to supporting the scheme through the next stages of the development.

A productive day supporting our long standing, valued client, Jamson Estates Ltd, including a visit to their head office and two of their current Wales & West Housing projects.

First stop was the 20 apartment development at the former Aberaeron Hospital, where work is progressing really well and the finishing line is now firmly in sight. It won't be long before these fantastic new homes are ready for their first lucky residents. 🏠

We then visited the former Cardigan Memorial Hospital redevelopment, a much larger scheme incorporating 20 new social rented apartments alongside new Wales & West Housing offices, which will include refurbishment of existing historic buildings. At this stage, site setup has beeb established, and enabling works are progressing well, with setting out and excavation works moving forward.

Great to see two very different projects taking shape, and to support Jamson in maintaining high standards across health, safety and project delivery.

Last Thursday we visited our client GRD Limited in St Davids, Pembrokeshire, where an important milestone was reached on their impressive 58-dwelling development, East and West of Glasfryn Road.

The floor slab for the final property has now been completed, marking a significant step forward in what has been an exceptional development. 👏

From a health, safety and quality perspective, it has been great to see the project progressing to such a high standard, with considerable effort going into delivering a quality development while maintaining strong standards throughout the construction process.

There is still plenty to do before the development is complete, including finishing the remaining properties, block paving, boundary walls, fencing, turfing and the many other finishing touches that bring a development together.
But getting that final slab in the ground is certainly a milestone worth celebrating.

Well done to everyone at GRD Limited and all those involved in bringing the development this far.

We look forward to seeing the final stages take shape! 🏠👏

A huge congratulations to our client, DKAN Groundworks Ltd, on successfully achieving their SMAS Worksafe reaccreditation.

This is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates their continued commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety, as well as their dedication to providing a safe working environment for their workforce and clients.

We’re pleased to have supported them through the reaccreditation process, helping to ensure the necessary requirements and documentation were in place for a successful outcome.

A great day out on site today carrying out a health and safety inspection with TRJ - T Richard Jones (Betws) Ltd at the Coed Darcy development, working on behalf of Pobl Group.

It’s fantastic to see the progress being made across the development, with the two site locations operating at a number of different stages. Some properties are now at the snagging and near completion stage, while others are still progressing through construction, first and second fix, decorating, tiling and carpeting.

External works are also progressing, with tarmac being laid across parts of the upper development.

The new homes are designed with energy efficiency in mind, alongside modern living and improved green spaces, helping to create a quality environment for the local community.

From what we saw today, there is some really good progress being made, with quality workmanship and finishes evident across the development.

Importantly, maintaining high standards of health and safety alongside that quality is essential as the works continue.

A positive visit and great to see another development taking shape and providing high-quality, modern homes for the community. 👷‍♂️🏡

After a fantastic and relaxing holiday exploring Singapore, Penang and Borneo, it’s been a busy return to work with health and safety inspections taking place across Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire, Swansea and Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Even when away, it’s sometimes difficult to completely switch off when safety is such a big part of what you do, you naturally find yourself noticing things around you!!

That said, the break has been a great opportunity to recharge the batteries, spend some quality time away, and return refreshed and ready for the months ahead.

Looking forward to continuing to support existing clients and working with new clients on their health, safety and compliance needs.
