Who's your plus one this month?

Bringing a guest is part of our 3-2-1, and it's much easier than people think. When you book your own ticket in the Buzz app, press the orange plus sign and add their details. You can book for up to three guests.

If you get in a muddle, just bring them along on the day and the team will happily sort it out with you.

A familiar face beside you makes the first visit easier for them, and you'll probably both meet someone new.

We get asked a lot what makes Buzz different from other networking.

Honestly, it's mostly what we don't do. No speaking slots. No pressure to pitch. No locking anyone out because someone else in the room does the same job. No trying to network and eat a full breakfast at the same time.

What we do is put a friendly room together every month, at the same time and in the same place, and make sure nobody stands on their own for long.

One of the nicest things about Buzz is that you're not tied to one town.

Each ticket is for a particular event, but you can book any of our towns through the Buzz app. If Leicester's date doesn't work this month, Lutterworth or Loughborough might. If you've been to Market Harborough a few times, try another room and see who you meet. Each town has its own feel, but the welcome is the same.

We call it cross-visiting. Our regulars call it "meeting people I'd never have bumped into otherwise".

Does your town need a Business Buzz?

Our Leicestershire & Rutland family is Market Harborough, Leicester, Loughborough and Lutterworth, with Hinckley taking a short pause, and we'd love it to grow. Places like Oakham, Melton or Ashby-de-la-Zouch would be wonderful additions.

Who else remembers flicking through the Yellow Pages looking for a plumber?

The Buzz directory is our much friendlier version. It lives in the Buzz app and lets you search for businesses by what they do, their name or where they are, so the people you met over coffee are easy to find again when you actually need them.

Worth five minutes this week: make sure your own profile is filled in, so people can find you too.

Thinking about your first Buzz but not quite sure what you're walking into?

Here's how it goes. You arrive any time from 10am, someone at the welcome desk says hello and hands you a green sticker so people know to come and say hello, the same as all the other visitors. There's no pitching and no standing up to present.

At 11am we go round the room with a quick 7-second intro: just your name and what you do. That's it.

If it's your very first Buzz, you'll be given a copy of our Networking 101 guide to take away. It's a lovely little confidence boost.

Lutterworth Buzz is tomorrow morning, 10am to noon at the Wycliffe Rooms.

Two hours, good coffee, and a room full of local business owners who'd rather talk to you than pitch at you. No agenda, no speaker, just familiar faces and a few new ones.

Sponsoring a Business Buzz is a lovely, low-pressure way to be known in your town.

Your roller banner and leaflets sit on the welcome desk, you get a short slot at the 11am welcome to say who you are, you're featured on our LinkedIn pages and in the Buzz app news feed, and you can bring a colleague along with you.

There are only four sponsor places in each town, with one business per category, so it stays meaningful for everyone.

Our venues deserve a bit of love.

Every Business Buzz happens because a local venue opens its doors to us, sorts the coffee and makes us feel at home, month after month. They're local businesses too, and the nicest way to say thank you is to use them.

Most of them have meeting space you can book, so hold your next one-to-one or client meeting there, and where there's a café or restaurant, take someone for coffee or lunch.
