ABOUT THE SESSION
Effie’s class offers space to enter class with a mindset of being unimpressive yet curious, across a landscape of improvised mobilisations and structured sequences. Giving time to check in with simplicity, and build up the technical challenge – taking the spine through curves, tilts and spirals, and playing with sensations which will likely include opposition, rebound, shift and suspension. Aiming to cultivate an atmosphere of support and possibility to energise one another as collaborators in the room. Expect to talk, sweat, count, smile, and mostly, encounter challenge and enjoyment whilst moving.

ABOUT THE SESSION
This upbeat Bollywood class is designed for dancers who want to explore a different movement language while building on their existing training. We’ll begin with some technique-based work influenced by Indian classical forms, focusing on elements like coordination, hand gestures, expression and rhythmic footwork.

From there, we’ll learn a short routine in the style of Bollywood, looking at musicality, expression, and energetic movement. Along the way, we’ll touch on a range of Bollywood sub-styles inspired from Bharatanatyam, Folk and more contemporary styles, getting a glimpse into the depth of Bollywood. 

The class is open, exploratory, and aimed at giving you new movement and tools to bring into your own practice.
