🚨 Do you know about Precautionary Allergen Labelling (PAL)? 🚨

If you live with food allergies, you've probably seen these labels that warn about potential allergens due to cross-contact, even when there aren't actual ingredients in the product. But did you know that PAL is a voluntary practice? πŸ€”

Many consumers and businesses are concerned about the confusion it can cause. With no standard guidelines and its frequent overuse, PAL can limit options and add unnecessary risk for those navigating food allergies.

Want to know what to look out for? 🧐

Check out the common mistakes you should be aware of! And for more detailed info on PAL, visit our website here πŸ‘‰ https://bit.ly/3W3LmeN

To kickstart allergy awareness week, we're thrilled to announce our partnership with the The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation (NARF).

NARF was set up by Tanya and Nadim Ednan-Laperouse following the death of their daughter Natasha in 2016 and is dedicated to advancing the understanding, prevention and treatment of allergies and anaphylaxis.

This week, we're coming together to create a national voice for people with food allergies, sharing insights on allergen food labelling requirements and updates on NARF's brilliant initiatives.

By joining forces, Ashbury and NARF aim to empower individuals living with allergies and create a safer, more inclusive world.

Stay tuned for more!

In the UK, tethered caps have been gradually showing up on supermarket shelves, catching the eye of shoppers and sparking their interest.

Although tethered lids are not mandatory in the UK, manufacturers are introducing them because they sell across EU markets, and it also helps them to meet their sustainability and recycling targets.

For further information regarding tethered lids, please visit our website and read our complete blog at https://ashbury.global.

It's no secret that labelling compliance is complex.

Despite efforts to manage risk, the food industry has seen over 2,500 food recalls in the past decade due to incorrect allergen labelling, putting consumers at risk and damaging brands in the process.

Some of the most common errors our experts see are oversights of the fundamentals of food labelling; well-known requirements that are missed while focusing on the bells and whistles, such as health and nutrition claims or packaging design.

In this blog, we go back to the basics, providing you with valuable insight and information about some of the mandatory elements that should be included on your food label.

Attention UK brands!

We want to make sure you're aware of the latest developments in EU sustainability legislation.

As consumers continue to prioritise recycling and sustainability, it is crucial for manufacturers to stay informed and compliant with government regulations.

To keep up with the competition and appeal to consumers, our Food Regulatory Expert Janet Dalzell, provides valuable insights on what you need to know.

Have you recently noticed that some of your lids are now attached to a plastic drinks bottle? No, it’s not a faulty product or flawed design, rather the latest move in meeting recycling targets and combating littering.

We were thrilled to have Jess Parkinson, from The Happy Healthy Body Co., as our guest speaker.

Jess provided us with some incredibly useful breathing exercises that she personally uses to combat stress and shared the science behind stress, carbon dioxide levels and your breath.

On Wednesday, June 21st, we celebrated Global MND Awareness Day. It's a charity that's really important to us, so we all wore blue to show our support.

It's incredible to see our colleagues dedicating their time to help out with charitable causes, whether it's running a marathon, climbing mountains, or even swimming the channel! Every employee has a cause that's close to their heart, and at Ashbury, we're proud to support them in raising funds.

To encourage our colleagues, we offer an extra day off so they can focus on their charitable contributions, and we also match their donations. We believe that every little bit helps, and we're happy to do our part in giving back to the community.

Remote and flexible working offers many benefits that promote a healthy work/life balance, but for some, face-to-face connection is really important.

Introducing the Ashbury Culture Club!

This team is made of volunteer representatives from different departments and locations; their main purpose? To drive connection, culture and charity for everyone at Ashbury.

The Culture Club hosted their first London event in May. And what a brilliant first event it was!

They combined a pizza lunch with Puttshack mini-golf, and everyone had a great time.

Watch out for more events throughout 2023; we've got a calendar full of them.
