Last Friday we were proud sponsors of The Kenya Peering Forum (KePF), a fantastic event hosted by Technology Service Providers of Kenya (TESPOK) and the Kenya Internet Exchange Point (KIXP).

Patrick Mbogo from team LINX was in attendance for a productive day of networking and discussions centred around cybersecurity, resilient peering, the changing ISP landscape, AI integrations, data centre sustainability, and sector policy.

The wider LINX team have great memories from week including a fantastic safari event courtesy of our Kenyan partners Africa Data Centres, a chance to network in the wild! Asante sana!

LINX CFO Andrew Fabian continued on to Ghana for meetings and made time to visit our LINX Accra partners PAIX Data Centres and Digital Realty. Currently we are offering a no charge period for all LINX services in Ghana as we build our peering ecosystem 🌐

Feedback from our 2025 Member Survey said 'make the LINX portal better' so we did.

We completely redesigned the ordering experience including order persistence, meaning members no longer lose their progress if they refresh the page or navigate away during an order.

What a 3 days!

From hosting, compering, presenting, organising, having meetings, networking and much more, it's been a busy few days for the LINX Team!

Thank you to everyone that attended and made another huge success.

Our hosting duties are now over and we pass the baton over to Netnod for next year in Warsaw! Make sure to add the 12th - 15th to you diaries. Registration will open at in April.

Not only has our LON2 Internet Exchange in London hit the 1Tb maximum traffic mark, but our members are benefiting from a growing total of £41,000 in combined monthly discounts from our new Metro Resilience initiative.

In July we launched LINX Metro Resilience as a solution to encourage network resilience in London. Our members can now mirror their services on our dual LAN infrastructure (LON1 and LON2) and benefit from a 60% discount on the LON2 bill.

Jennifer Holmes, CEO of the London Internet Exchange, said:

“The internet, and wider Critical National Infrastructure, cannot be reliant on a single point of failure. This is even more important with the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill on the horizon, placing stricter security requirements on organisations.”

“Metro Resilience ensures cost isn’t a blocker for organisations, providing affordable access to high security, low-latency peering through LON2, while removing single points of failure for LINX Members.”

LON2 was launched in 2002 as a second peering LAN in London for LINX, built on different hardware and software to LON1 to prevent outages from impacting a single point of failure.

We've made it to Paris!

This year LINX are the main host of the European Peering Forum in Paris so we have a big team, playing big roles in the event!

Inga Turner has been our day 1 compare, introducing all of the session including our IXP update that LINX CEO Jennifer Holmes covered. Tomorrow LINX Enterprise Architect Mariano Julia will take to the stage and present on the 'LON2 Network Refresh – LINX Metro Resilience' so make sure you are in the room for that one!

And of course, the rest of the team are here to meet you all and improve your network and maybe save you some money with the initiatives we have available.

We've expanded our educational programme with more webinars covering topics such as our Microsoft Azure Peering Service. We introduced new Peering Health Check sessions with our Product and NOC team and also a Welcome to LINX webinar for newly connected networks.
