A small moment from last week’s session with James Winsbury.

We spoke about something many of us experience without always noticing: the constant stream of internal and external noise, and how easy it is to get pulled away from the present moment.

Instead of trying to “switch off” thoughts completely, the focus was on something simpler:

bringing awareness back to the body, grounding yourself, and learning to observe what’s there without getting caught up in it.

A useful reminder that clarity doesn’t come from controlling everything, sometimes it starts with just paying attention.

Modern work has completely reshaped the way we move... or don’t move.

Long hours at a desk, endless screen time, and the habit of “just one more email” all add up, slowly changing our posture in ways we barely notice. Tight chests, rounded shoulders, a tired upper back, that familiar neck ache… it’s all part of a pattern known as Upper Cross Syndrome, and it affects far more of us than we realise.

The good news is that once you understand what’s happening in your body, you can start to undo it. Small, simple adjustments to how you sit, stand, stretch and work can make a huge difference to your energy, comfort and focus throughout the day.
