Meet the Panel: Barry Carlin, HeadDial

What happens when you treat mental performance with the same attention as physical performance?

At this year’s 68th President’s Annual Dinner, we’ll hear from Barry Carlin, clinical and sports psychotherapist and founder of HeadDial.

Working one-to-one with elite athletes, Barry identified mental performance as a major but often underdeveloped competitive edge in sport. That insight led to HeadDial, a Voice AI system designed to measure, track and train mental performance across squads and academies.

Today, HeadDial is being used by organisations including Ulster Rugby, the RFU, the GAA, Irish Men’s Hockey and Sport Ireland Institute.

Voting is now open for the Retail NI High Street Heroes 2026 Awards, celebrating the independent retailers and high streets that make such an important contribution to communities across Northern Ireland.

The winners are decided entirely by public vote, so this is a great opportunity to show your support for the local businesses that go the extra mile.

We’re especially proud to have a previous High Street Heroes award winner in our membership, Cityman Menswear, demonstrating the fantastic independent retail talent we have here in the North West.

With 15 categories up for grabs, we’d encourage our members to get involved and cast their votes.
