Here's a little look back at the months gone by. 🐝

From those first spring inspections and watching our colonies grow, through the busy summer months, to the honey harvest that makes it all worthwhile.

Every season brings its own challenges, rewards and little moments that remind us why we do what we do.

Now were busy making candles and beeswax products but its always lovely to look back at what the season has brought.

And, of course, it all ends with a little golden reminder of the hard work of our bees. 🍯

Stormy weather outside, beeswax candle weather inside.

With the wind howling and temperatures dropping today, it feels like the perfect time to talk about one of our favourite things to make – beeswax candles.

But have you ever wondered what actually makes beeswax such a beautiful candle material?

From the tiny flakes of wax produced by worker bees, to the golden colour that develops inside the hive, there's a fascinating story behind every candle.

For us at Stax Of Wax Ltd, that story is particularly special because we're beekeepers first. The beeswax connects our candles directly back to the hives, the bees and the Lincolnshire countryside around us.

In our latest blog, we take you from hive to home – looking at where beeswax comes from, how we prepare it, why the natural colour varies and what makes it such a lovely material for candles.

And on a day like today, there's something rather lovely about lighting a beeswax candle while the weather does its worst outside. ❤️

Yesterday we celebrated our bees and the honey they make…

Today, we're celebrating another little gift from the hive. 🐝🕯️

Introducing our new Beeswax Ribbed Dome Pillar Candle.

Tall, simple and beautifully textured, with softly ribbed sides and a gently rounded dome top.

Hand poured here in our Lincolnshire workshop using natural British beeswax, it has that beautiful warm golden colour and gentle honeyed aroma that we love about beeswax.

It's a little different from some of our more decorative bee-inspired candles — simple, timeless and made to bring a touch of natural warmth into your home.

And I think after yesterday's celebration of our honey bees, it's rather fitting that today we get to celebrate the beeswax they leave behind. 🤎

🍯 Happy National Honey Day!🐝

Today is a lovely excuse to celebrate one of the sweetest things our bees give us.

From the flowers they visit across the Lincolnshire countryside, our bees make honey that we carefully harvest, lightly strain and bring from our hives to your home.

Every jar is a little different because every season is different — and that's part of what makes honey so special.

But honey isn't the only thing our bees give us…

Tomorrow, we're going to introduce you to something new we've been making from another wonderful product of the hive. 🐝✨

We’ve been busy making something a little different for the season.

Introducing our Autumn Candle Collection

Four handmade candles inspired by the countryside in autumn:

Finished in a beautiful autumn palette of eithernatural, mocha, burgundy and green beeswax.

Inspired by crisp woodland walks, fallen leaves, acorns, pinecones and those cosy autumn days when you just want to make home feel warm and inviting.

Each candle is handmade here in Louth, Lincolnshire, and boxed together as a seasonal collection.

When you buy a jar of local honey, you're not just buying honey.

You're supporting the bees, the hives, the time spent caring for them through the seasons, and all the work that goes into getting that honey from the hive to the jar.

From opening the hive and carefully harvesting the honey, to straining it, filling jars and preparing our cut comb — there's a lot that happens before it reaches your kitchen table.

And that's what I love about buying local. You get to know where your food comes from and who made it.

🐝 Six months of bees, honey, beeswax and a little bit of magic! 🍯🕯️🎁

From the incredible hard work of our bees to harvesting our honey, creating beautiful beeswax products and putting together our hampers and gifts, it's been a busy six months here at Stax Of Wax!

We're a small family beekeeping business in Lincolnshire, and everything we do starts with our love of bees. 💛

🐝 I just can’t help celebrating our bees’ hard work…

Every year, our bees create something incredible — and we get to take a little of that beeswax and turn it into something beautiful for your home.

Our latest beeswax candle… Honey Bee Cottage Inspired by the traditional skep hive, this little cottage is full of details — flowers winding around the hive, a tiny door and window, and that beautiful natural golden colour of beeswax.

Hand poured here in our Lincolnshire workshop using British beeswax, it’s a little celebration of the bees and the countryside they call home.

🐝And I think it looks rather at home in a cottage setting too.
