๐คFor the little lives lost, the families who love them, and those who care for them.
This week marks Baby Loss Awareness Week, a time to remember the babies who are no longer with us, recognise the families who carry that loss and acknowledge those who support them through some of the most difficult moments imaginable.
Yesterday, we visited Milton Keynes University Hospital to drop off a care package, which will be passed on to a family experiencing the heartbreak of losing a baby.
It is a small gesture, but we hope it brings a little comfort to a family when they need it most.
Baby loss touches so many lives, often in ways we may never fully understand. This week is also an opportunity to think of those around us, whether family, friends, colleagues or people within our wider communities.
Sometimes the smallest gestures, a thoughtful message, a conversation or simply letting someone know they are in your thoughts, can mean so much.
We also wanted to take this opportunity to recognise the incredible people working within our NHS.
To the midwives, doctors, nurses and wider hospital teams who care for families experiencing baby loss, thank you.
For the compassion you show, the difficult conversations you have, the hands you hold and the care you provide during moments that no family should ever have to experience.
The work you do goes far beyond medical care, and the difference you make to families will never be forgotten.
๐ฏ๏ธ Tonight, Wednesday 14 October, from 5pm, Milton Keynes University Hospital will be holding a special online Wave of Light Service.
The service will be shared on their page and is open to anyone wishing to remember and honour babies lost before, during or after birth, regardless of when or where that loss occurred.
We encourage anyone who would like to take part to join this moment of remembrance.
To every family carrying the memory of a baby they never got to watch grow, we are thinking of you.
