Last Wednesday it was the Gloucestershire and District Agricultural Valuer Association's AGM at the RAU and I was delighted (and somewhat surprised) to recieve the Christopher Graham Memorial Award for 2026. The award was for my contribution to the association and for representing the GDAVA on the CAAV Council for the past 10 years and also sitting on the Electricity and Telecoms Working Groups. If I'd known I was getting the award then I "may" have dressed up a "bit" smarter?!

Welcome to Mike Cluley Rural Surveying!

I’m planning to use this page to post general updates and my thoughts on what is going on in the rural world as well as a few posts to go into more detail about what types of work I undertake. This may include some simple descriptions of the areas of work I do as well as some examples of recent instructions completed (suitably redacted of course!).

To kick off - a little background as to how I got here.…… I set up my own Chartered Surveying business in April 2024 having been working for another local firm of surveyors and valuers for the previous 11 years. For me, the time felt right to “go it alone” and to utilize my experience and knowledge built up from both my chartered surveying experience over the 17 years as well as my previous Farm Consultant experience and on-farm experience dairy farming in New Zealand and arable farming in east Gloucestershire. Nine months in and I haven’t regretted the decision…..😊
