We're really excited for tomorrow's (F)East Street Market, and the weather is looking fantastic! It's set to be a beautiful day, so why not come into town, enjoy the sunshine and make a day of it?

🛍️ Head to East Street Market and browse the fantastic selection of fresh produce and local traders.

☕ Pop into the amazing independent businesses along East Street, grab a coffee, enjoy a bite to eat and show some support for our brilliant local businesses.

🏄 Then head down to Great Western Beach for the fantastic Earthwave event, where we'll be cheering on the attempt to break the world record for the most people surfing a single wave!

It's going to be a fantastic spectacle and a brilliant opportunity to celebrate everything that makes Newquay so special.

So, grab your friends and family, come into town, do a bit of shopping, enjoy the market, take a walk along the beach and soak up the atmosphere.

📢 Budget Update – What Does It Mean for Newquay Businesses?

Please see the link below for the full details of this year’s Budget announcement.

Unfortunately, from a high street business perspective, there appears to be very limited new support.

The key announcement is the increase in the business rates relief threshold from £12,000 to £18,000. This could have a positive impact for some businesses, but the extent of that benefit remains to be seen.

We had hoped for much wider measures to support businesses, particularly around taxation and employer National Insurance contributions, to help ease the ongoing pressures on our high streets.

We will continue to campaign for meaningful change, work with our local MP and make sure the voices of Newquay businesses are heard.

We will be on ITV tonight with a local business to highlight the limited support announced and the challenges facing businesses, both here in Newquay and across the UK.

Our lovely BID business, The Studios Newquay, is raising funds to upgrade its recording studio and help more local musicians follow their dreams! ❤️

Since 2016, The Studios has supported hundreds of students and aspiring musicians, helping them build confidence, learn new skills and discover their passion for music.

Now, founder Nadine Finney and her team are hoping to raise £5,000 to create an even better space for young and emerging artists across Cornwall. 🎤🎧

🙌 They’ve already raised £1,000 — but they need your help to reach their goal!

🎨 Third place in Art in the Landscape, celebrating the creativity and collaborative efforts that help make our town special.

📢 Cliff Road & Station Parade Business Update – Some Positive Results!

We’re pleased to share some positive feedback following our meetings with Cormac and Cornwall Council regarding the ongoing Mid Cornwall Metro works affecting Cliff Road and Station Parade.

We’ve been working hard to make sure local businesses are heard, and we’re really pleased that we’ve already secured some positive outcomes on their behalf.

🚗 FREE PARKING – A BIG WIN FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES!

One of the key outcomes is that Albany Road Car Park will be free to use from 1st November until 31st March 🙌

There’s also further good news:
✅ Tolcarne Road Car Park will be free all day from 1st November through to 31st March.
✅ Improved signage will help visitors find parking and remind them that Cliff Road businesses are still open.
✅ Cornwall Council will be promoting the message that Cliff Road remains open for business, with videos and social media content.
✅ Cormac is reviewing the works programme to explore options for speeding things up.
✅ Regular updates and fortnightly drop-in sessions will help businesses raise concerns and stay informed.
✅ Traffic management and signage around the works are also being reviewed.

These are important steps forward, and we’ll continue working with Cornwall Council and Cormac to make sure the concerns of our business community are heard and addressed.

A huge thank you to all the businesses on Cliff Road and Station Parade who have taken the time to attend meetings, share their experiences and make their voices heard. Your feedback really does make a difference. ❤️

A HUGE, spooky THANK YOU to everyone who came out and joined us for our Zombie Crawl! 💚👻
Even though the rain tried its best to put a dampener on things, you all showed up, got involved and helped make it such a brilliant day! 🌧️🧟‍♀️

🖤 A massive thank you to all our amazing workshop hosts, activity providers, performers, entertainers, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who helped bring the event to life. We couldn’t have done it without you!

🎃 And of course, thank you to all the families, little monsters, zombies and spooky supporters who came along, got dressed up and embraced the Halloween spirit!
From the costumes and creativity to the dancing, laughter and incredible atmosphere, you made all the planning and hard work worthwhile. ✨
