Most people don’t realise how far off-grid power systems have come.

This installation was built to supply three homes from a single energy system in a rural location where a suitable grid connection simply wasn’t available.

The system combines 90kVA of Victron inverter power with 140kWh of Pytes lithium battery storage, creating a complete three-phase power station capable of delivering reliable electricity day and night.

For many rural properties, farms, estates, holiday parks and new developments, the cost of a grid connection can run into tens or even hundreds of thousands of pounds. In some cases, an off-grid system can provide a faster, more practical and more cost-effective alternative.

At Callidus Trade, we design and build complete Victron systems ranging from small cabins and homes right through to multi-property and commercial installations.

Today we completed full load testing of this 180kVA Victron Energy inverter system paired with 500kWh of Pytes lithium battery storage before shipment to site.

The system was pushed to maximum load while we monitored every connection point using thermal imaging. I’m pleased to report that everything performed exactly as designed, with temperatures remaining around 27°C throughout testing and no significant heat build-up detected.

The next step is to carefully remove the battery storage, transport the equipment to site, and begin installation.

This project has been designed to power a large off-grid farm that currently only has access to a single-phase electricity supply. Upgrading the site to a three-phase grid connection would have cost millions of pounds, making it financially unviable.

Instead, the customer has invested in a complete off-grid energy solution consisting of:

⚡ 180kVA Victron Energy inverter system
🔋 500kWh of Pytes lithium battery storage
☀️ 840 x 450W solar panels (378kW of solar generation)
⛽ Backup generator integration for year-round resilience

The result is a highly reliable power system capable of supporting substantial agricultural loads without the need for an expensive grid upgrade.

This is exactly the type of project that demonstrates how modern battery storage, solar generation and intelligent power management can provide practical alternatives where traditional grid infrastructure simply isn’t economical.

One day of labour. Two-person crew. One fully-commissioned solar carport 🔥

Think a solar carport is a 3-day headache? We just built one in 8 hours with only two people. 🛠️⚡️

We took the Antai Carport out for a spin at our HQ to see if it really lives up to the easy install hype.
