We have updated our timber cladding sample boards.

They are mounted on hooks which can be removed so you take them outside and see how they are in the natural light.

Thermally Modified Radiata Pine

The thermal modification process involves heat treating the timber to temperatures over 200°C through various heating and cooling cycles. This causes chemical and structural changes to occur within the timber which alter and improve its characteristics and makes it more stable and durable than normal wood. The resulting darkened colour will eventually grey down over time.

A1 Kiln Dried Accoya

Radiata Pine is treated with acetic anhydride, combined with heat and pressure. This reaction creates water resistant acetyl groups throughout the timber. It absorbs approximately 80% less water than unmodified wood stopping swelling, shrinking and warping. Its stability and lifespan matches or exceed heavy tropical hardwoods with a 50 year life expectancy.

Canadian Western Red Cedar

Canadian Western Red Cedar contains natural oils, thujaplicins, that act as a natural preservation against fungus and pests without need for chemical treatments. The boards have striking aesthetics, with a range of warm amber, reddish brown and pinkish hues. It is very lightweight and lifespan can exceed 50 years.

Thermo Ayous

Sourced from West Africa and thermally Modified for enhanced performance, this hardwood offers a life expectancy of 30 years+. It is exceptionally clean with a virtually knot free face.

Kiln Dried American Dougkas Fir

American Douglas Fir is recognised as one of the strongest and stiffest softwoods available. It has a striking and straight grain patter and it's high resin content makes it more durable than most softwoods.

Prized for its strength, attractive grain and warm, natural tones. Sourced responsibly from Canada under strict forestry standards, it serves a good alternative to the banned Siberian Larch. High density and natur

We love a good before and after!

One falling down walk through shed and one unused dead space between two houses have been completely transformed by our customer, Broadway Builders.

After installing a concrete floor to replace the uneven gravel, he used 47 x 75mm treated timber to create a framework, which was lined with OSB to create the walls and then 0.7mm anti-condensation slate blue box profile sheets were fitted onto 47 x 100mm timbers alongside translucent roof lights to create the roof. The roof is then joined to the walls of the houses using an abutment profile and some lead work.

The sheds were finished by adding guttering and doors at both ends, clad with treated ex. 100mm tongue and groove boards. This job will now give his customers usable storage space for years to come.
