Just over two years ago, Jocelyn joined us as an 18-year-old Business Administration Apprentice.

Since then she’s completed her apprenticeship with a distinction from Starting Off, and built an internal management system for our automotive team from scratch along the way.

In May, she stepped into the role of Automotive Co-ordinator, managing the process behind every vehicle sale.

She’s run with it so well that she’s now been promoted to Group Business Co-ordinator, overseeing administration and renewals across the whole group 🥳

She’ll also take the lead on training our apprentice-level recruits, after playing an important role in the interview process for new staff members at this level.

A huge congratulations to our Joss 👏

Advice for anyone thinking about starting a business with a friend 👇

And it’s advice from two people who have done just this over the last 18 years - Nicola Tilley and Emily Cooper:

1) Align your vision: Make sure you are both completely on board and moving on the same path.

2) Build on trust: Ensure you have the compatibility to work together and absolute trust in one another.

3) Protect the relationship: Get a solid commercial agreement in place from day one.

4) Decide with conviction: Be quick to make decisions, but be absolutely sure about them.

When you think about utilities, you probably just think about the bill 💰 The part we deal with sits further back than that.

If there’s a plot of land being developed, or a warehouse being converted into a block of flats for instance, the gas, electric and broadband have to physically get there.

That means new connections, meter upgrades and downgrades, disconnections ahead of demolition, and all the infrastructure work behind the development.

We loved Fleet & Mobility Live 👏 Days like that are a big part of how we work.

With 250+ cars on the road, clients rely on us knowing what’s coming into the market before they need it, and there’s no substitute for standing next to a vehicle and talking to the people who build and run fleets every day.

An end-of-season dinner to reflect on an unforgettable cricket season with Northamptonshire Steelbacks 👏

We’ve sponsored matches, been part of the 1878 Business Club, supported the Tempeo Foundation Fanzone, and followed the team on the road - all the way to T20 Finals Day success.

We started the season backing the Steelbacks Women as sponsor of their training kit, so it was fitting that we finished it by sponsoring the Players’ Player of the Year award.

The NN Business Excellence Awards finalists have been announced, including for the Sustainability Award, which we’re proudly sponsoring 👏
